and the post here did not say they looked you up! it mentioned they found someone else. so you stating that they looked you up, just means you are that person. or just guilty for some reason.
like Sucrets mentioned, lurkers are the ones you have to be careful of, it's the internet we can do many many things with the internet especially those that know alot about it.
I may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch when it comes to grammar or spelling but I know alot about the net and guess what deal it only takes a matter of seconds to get your IP, and your location and then everything else about you.
Not that i do this, but people out there can and do, do this all the time. That is why people go missing, and alot of the crimes happen. Did you have see Dateline where they have uncover people talking to who they think is a 13-14 yr old girl?
that just proves some of this.

Do you have a FB? Have you ever said "I wonder how Jane Doe is doing...I haven't seen her since HS!" and you type her name and up pops her profile?

Now - you could see either everything on her profile, limited things, or NOTHING if she chooses that. That is up to HER to control and has nothing to do with what forums she frequents.

If you're dumb enough to put your full name on the internet where anyone could see it, you deserve the repercussions - and don't go blaming it on people or calling them crazy if they're trying to prove a point and ultimately help you out.

(but again, I have no idea how you know that people are googling you and finding your FB)

This is one of my flaws as a teacher...I keep on trying to drill points into the heads of my delusional students (like the one who told me that she was singing and reading her music when she was staring off into space with her binder shut).
