Thursday Morning

Re: Thursday Morning

• My only complaint with the book right now is that there are no page numbers. WTF. Who doesn't put page numbers on their book?

I want to go camping. We both want to but it's just too hot right now. We might try camping in December since the temp will be what, maybe around 70? Ha. It was warm almost all year last year so we'll see.
• Speaking of babies, has anyone heard from Sept?
Anna, we're getting some rain too.  It's been too long without it.  No wonder I slept so well.  That and we put the puggles in their kennel last night so it was just one dog in the bed.  Do you collect Pooh stuff?  Our dogs have a pooh dog toy that they absolutely adore.
Posted by jcbsjr
<div>I ran out last night right before the rain started and mowed the lawn.  Haven't done it in a month because it's practically dormant and dry but I figured it would be okay with the rain coming.</div><div>
</div><div>Nope, no pooh collection here beyond a very old copy of the book.  I love the stories but never got into the whole pooh everywhere thing.  We definitely won't have a pooh themed nursery ever.  I just can't get on board with overly commercialized things in general.</div><div>

• Morning Ladies,

Les, I'm so sorry H forgot your anniversary. I hope he makes up for it big, you deserve that.

Mehg I hope you have a good trip to WDW and maybe your H will end up being able to go after all?

Nothing exciting today - working and then having dinner wtih my H and kids - it's my oldest daughter's 8th birthday today - HOLY CRAP! I can't even believe it.

Have a lovely day :)
• Morning.  I'm really irritated this morning.  One of my CW sits pretty close to me and will randomly start talking (more like mumbling) to me about something out of the blue.  If I ask for it to be repeated becasue I 1)didn't know it was directed to me 2) couldn't understand what was being said, a big whiney fit gets thrown about how I "never listen" and then they won't repeat it. Seriously? It makes me so annoyed.  Today I finally responded with "well if you actually made sure I know you are talking to me and speak clearly, maybe I could listen".  It was probably a bit out of line, but I'm really sick of it.

I also forgot to hit snooze and overslept a bit.  Thankfully H texted me and I woke up.

Morning! Hugs to you Les! That's never fun. My dad managed to forget my moms birthday one year and he STILL hasn't lived that one down. Men are weird with remembering those dates!

I did some online shopping this morning, I just can't help myself. I got earrings, a belt, sunglasses, 3 shirts and a cardigan. But they were all on super sale so I am trying to make myself feel a little better about it, ha!

Mehg, isn't this the second time you have had issues with hotel deposits because of work interferences? That isn't fair at all!

ETA: holy exclamations. I swear I am not super excited/caffeinated this morning.
In Response to Re: Thursday Morning : I totally get that.  I love the old classic Pooh  - the faded yellow bear NOT wearing a red shirt.  Same with Snoopy (which I do collect).  I love the old stuff.  The new, not so much. We told the lawn service not to mow last week for the same reason.  Now, we do need them to mow and it's raining (Thursday is lawn service day).  Go figure.

• Sesh - I wouldn't be able to read that book, and can see why it's kinda scary. That's one of the reasons why The Stand scared me so much, too. I read it when I was like 9 or 10 years old, and for the longest time, whenever I got sick, I would think "Oh, no, Captain Trips!! I'm going to decimate society!". The whole end-of-the-world doom type stuff sticks with me. I also took the Left Behind series way too seriously as well. As soon as countries in Europe converted their currency to the euro, I freaked out a bit.

I'm alive. I've been swamped at work cause I missed three days lastweek and half of monday and then was getting ready to go on vacation so I just had way too much going on. I am in a car right now with adam and my best friend heading to montreal! So essentially, I will be MIA for a while still.

They are doing really well. One opened his eyes yesterday and the other looks like his will open today! And I think tomorrow they are getting bumped to a 65 calorie a day diet (I seriously can not get over how absurd that sounds). All of the things that should be happening are happening, and some of the big things they worry about with micro premies aren't happening. So all and all, they are awesome! Thanks for asking :)

<div>I love some of the wall art with that!  We're thinking an eclectic mix of geekery but if we had to pick a theme it would just be "books".  Nothing so babyish that it'd have to be completely redone after only a few years to avoid looking babyish.</div>

I'm okay with stuff like zombies and aliens taking over. But this one just feels so real. The detail he goes into about what happened in our past is crazy (and he uses actual events and people, like Clinton, for reference, which makes it even freakier).
• Morning.

I'm sorry for the annoyances/bad news, Les and Mehg.

I had to almost cause a fucking accident to switch lanes this morning. Right now I would punch a baby if it were in front of me.
• Morning.  The funeral yesterday took a lot out of me.  I ugly cried for almost the whole funeral.  Seeing his mom stand over his casket, his brother crying as he read a letter and seeing his Air Force buddies (some as high as 2 star Generals) getting teary eyed just got to me.  We went to Ft. Logan National Cemetary for the rest of the ceremony.  Shorty was an Air Force trainig pilot before he retired, so they had a missing man formation flyover.  Couple that with the 21 gun salute, folding of the flag, taps on the trumpet and a lone bagpiper and I was sobbing all over again.  My eyes are tired and swollen this morning.

Les- YOU ARE NOT INVISIBLE!  You're amazing, funny, beautiful and fantastic.  Sorry Mr. Les dropped the ball.  And Happy Belated Anniversary.

Mehg- Is there any chance that your H's work will change so he can go?  I'll keep my fingers crossed.  I was thinking of you during the ceremony yesterday.  You did say that you sometimes do those services, right?  Well, if so, THANK YOU.  It was very touching to see how reverent those soldiers were.

JCB- Sorry people suck.  And Dr. Pepper, EEEWW.
• Nebb, have fun!

Dmill, I'm glad the kiddos seem to be making progress, that's awesome news.
• Brandi- I dont think you're rude, I do the same thing on a daily with my CW. She is really not all there sometimes, and she never pays attention to what is going on in the office AT ALL.
Like this morning..I make a paper calendar for each month, I write on it vacations, time off, events, you name it. So on August I have another CW going in for surgery on the 29th.
So this morning other CW makes note of it in conversation and she says Oh you're going in for surgery on the 29th? So I looked at her and said YES, if you read the calendar I just printed out for you, you'd see that. PLUS, we have a huge month board in the back that has the same stuff on it. Pay attention!

So I'd have no qualms in telling your CW, excuse me, were you talking to me? I was busy over here working, so you know, I cant focus on you AT ALL TIMES, so either repeat yourself or shut up and quit acting like a baby.

<div>What was his reasoning?</div><div>
</div><div>This reminds me of a story I might have told once.  My mom's friend's son is a jazz pianist.  It's tough because he loves it but it just doesn't pay the bills.  A few years back his friend Steph (her bf at the time was in a band with mom's friend's son) emailed him saying that she had some music she was working on and would love to collaborate with him and have him work on some things for her.  He turned it down because it wasn't jazz.  Stephanie is now Lady Gaga.  The kid's mom was like "you are an idiot."</div>
