There is a broad on Maury right now who is in law school.

I guess that theory of degree = smart goes right out the window with that.

  • I read somewhere recently ( and I wish I could remember where so I could source it) that the trend of a college degree affording you more income over your lifetime is reversing.  And when you factor in the cost rising cost of getting a degree, getting a degree just to have one is not always the best idea.  And soon it may be better financially for most people to not have one at all.

Lol they've been back for over a week now.  Your badge becomes the color of the first poster on the page your post is on.
  • What was the best thing that happened to you this weekend? flew a plane

What do you consider to the most valuable thing you own: when you were a child/teenager/now? my engagement ring (the diamond was my mom's)

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Why? Telluride, CO because it's amazing there

If you were given 24 hrs to live, what would you do? buy a pack of cigarettes and score some heroin

Tell something that nobody in the group knows about you. I took piano lessons from Tom Petty's sister.

What CD is in your CD player right now? some Phish show
In Response to Re: Random Poll : Awesome.  Then my entire family is stupid since I'm the only one who went.  And I'm not even using the degree I went there for.  College is not for everyone.  Good grief.  <strong> Actually, it's been on local news lately how easy it is to just get a 'fake' degree and even supporting transcripts.</strong>  Neat.
    Posted by jcbsjr
<div>I don't know if he got a fake degree/transcripts or not, but I recently learned that a (former, I guess) friend of mine (C) lied on his resume, and to his friends/family, about graduating college.  Apparently,C failed a required class his last semester and did not officially receive his diploma, but told everyone (including his parents) that he did. His job found out recently and fired him. </div><div>
</div><div>This is also the same friend who was sleeping with another friend's wife.  They got busted, wife divorced the other friend.  Now she and C are living together.  And C's lost pretty much all of his old friends.  It makes me really sad because we were friends for over 15 years when all of this went down, and now I just can't look at him the same way.  He was part of the super close group of friends I've had since 8th grade. </div>

What was the best thing that happened to you this weekend? Adam and I went adventuring and found a little town south of us that is AMAZING and we both want to live there now. Even better, we looked up what real estate is like down there, way below our budget for nice houses with big properties, score!

What do you consider to the most valuable thing you own: when you were a child/teenager/now? child - my stuffed bunny named timothy / teenager - probably something dumb like my cell phone / now - some family "heirlooms" ive gotten when my 2 grandma's passed away.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Why?  Not totally tied to a specific area in the world, but id like to live in the country wherever it is.

If you were given 24 hrs to live, what would you do? Id eat everything.

Tell something that nobody in the group knows about you. I cant honestly think of anything about me that no one knows thats actually interesting. I used to trick or treat at paul bernardos house, but I dont know if anyone knows who that is.

What CD is in your CD player right now? I dont listen to CD's but on itunes ive been listening to a lot of black keys, the strokes, punch brothers, death from above 1979 and the streets.

Despite the fact that for 4 years, she drove through IN to get from Chicago to OH.  I just started at her for a minute trying to figure out if she was joking or not, and when I realized she wasn't, I couldn't help but laugh. </div>

</div><div>Haha that is pretty bad. I mean, I get not knowing all the border states of EVERY state in the country. But she moved here, I just thought it was weird that she didn't look at the basic geography of where she was now living, KWIM? I freely admit to getting confused on the placement of all the NE coastal states.

  • Lol, the Indiana story cracks me up.  I remember in college, a couple of my dormmates were going to take a road trip to Oklahoma to visit someone and they decided on it last minute.  I said to one of the girls - don't you think that's a far distance to travel for just one day?  She said, "Well you just drive through North Dakota, then you're in South Dakota, then you're in Nebraska and then you're in Oklahoma."  Oh.  Honey.  You forgot a state in there.  You're gonna have to drive through Kansas too :)

<div>And um, even if it wasn't in there? Driving through those states alone is a lot for one day, jeez. They aren't exactly small states. </div>
