Evening Thread

Hi everyone!

I am finally home. My dad had to go for more xrays...this time his pelvis, to see if there are any fractures there. So we are in a holding pattern on him until he gets his results tomorrow.

Mom went for her second round of antibiotics and has to go for a third round tomorrow, and get a cat scan of her face.

MIL still has not gotten her blood test results...

But I managed to buy two new bathing suits and a pair of shorts to go with them....total cost originally: $230....Sale price for everything: $90....total price after I used a merchandise credit: $35.

How is everyone?

I'm watching some tv while working a little on wedding stuff. I'm still worn out from our quick weekend trip. I do get Wednesday off so that will be nice.

*shock* H just told me he might not have to work thursday.....part of me is excited because maybe we can do something together on the 4th....the other part of me is a little bummed, because I figured he would be napping all day on the 4th and I would check out the local arts fest.

Hi everyone! My mom and I just went on a little shopping spree at Banana Republic. I sadly did not get as good a deal as Hockey

H doesn't have to work on the 4th, but it sounds like there isn't much going on amongst our friends, so we don't have any plans yet. One of my best friends used to have a cookout/pool party every year for the 4th, but she just moved to New Orleans, so that tradition ended.

It is tough on my parents...but honestly...after everything I have been through with FIL being really sick for 2 years before he passed, my mom having breast cancer, and my MIL having breast cancer (and being essentially the medical proxy for both FIL and MIL), I don't think twice about helping my parents.

Wow Hockey, that's a lot to deal with. Consider yourself hugged.

Sounds like our 4th may be rained out, which I think I'm ok with. H has to work during the day anyway and our neighbors are kind of assholes with the fireworks so hopefully if it's pouring rain they can't light them and give my poor dogs heart failure.

My Shrimp Alfredo kicked ass. I am currently lounging on the patio sipping wine and nursing my right ring finger that I pinched while tossing the salad I made to go with dinner. Stupid tongs!

I purposely didn't buy ice cream this week...because I was eating it every night.

I really need to start eating better. H does too, but he is an adult and needs to come to that conclusion on his own. It just sucks that he always eats so much crap that I end up buying crap for myself.

Confession, I DVR Judge Judy.... I think that I need to watch it now. That and I adore Bridezillas. FI hates both shows. I freely admit that Bridezillas makes me feel superior. Some of these women need a good spanking.

I'm glad your alfredo came out well Lizzie

I also try to keep ice cream out of the freezer. That way if I want it, I have to actually get in my car and drive to the store to get it. I very rarely want it THAT badly, and if I do then I really don't mind letting myself have it.

I keep frozen bananas in my freezer. I make that mostly-banana vegan ice cream if I get a craving, that way I get a serving of fruit and don't feel guilty.

I love fireworks, but I get that you can't have them all the time. THey're loud and disruptive.

I also love Judge Judy and Bridezillas. As well as Maury and Jerry Springer and Jeremy Kyle.

Also, my stupid sister put on The Notebook and it's depressing the fuuuuuck out of me.
