Hi my name is Cynthia and I'm getting married on June 5th. 110 days to go!!! However, I'm still veryy confused on favors. I have looked at many different websites and cant seem to find something that would be good. I feel like the favors on the websites are cute but nothing really jumps out to me. Our first date (blind date) was going to the movies to see "The Holiday" so I was thinking about incorpating that but "The Hoiday" is a winter movie and we're getting married in June. Then I was thinking mini Wine bottles with the personalized label but then my mom said when the wine is gone what will the guests have as a memory of your wedding. I dont like edible favors either because of the same reason. I kinda like the photo booth idea, but not crazy about it. O and the place we are having the reception at is Naninas in the Park...so for the place card holders they are going to be little benches and street lamps for the park. Its an elegant wedding with a band and a dj so I really want to do something that wont look cheap. Anyone have any idea's???
Re: Favor Help
And I really don't need some knick-knack or trinket in my house. I'm going to be very honest here~if I took it with me at all, I'd be tossing it away as soon as I got home.
I don't see a need to incorporate your first date into the favor. That means a lot to you and your FI, but it probably won't mean anything to your guests. I have no idea what my niece's first dates were....
Edible favors are the most likely to be taken along and appreciated, contrary to what your mom is thinking. YOu can have candy~truflles in a lovely boxed presentation would go beautifully with the elegant feel you're looking for.
Or skip favors, and have a Venetian table instead. Your guests would so prefer that to a trinket.
I decided early on if I was doing favors, I wanted it to be something the guests would use in the future, or at least think of as meaningful. I ordered glass coasters, 2 in a boxed set, and ordered enough for each person to receive a set of 2. Instead of putting pictures in them, we are going to print monograms of their last name initials, ie M for Morgan, and put those in there. A married couple will then get 4 coasters.
When I purchased them, they were 99 cents for a pack of 2 on the knot shopping link. It cost us less than a dollar per person, and these are something we agreed would probably be used and useful.
Good luck.

Useful favors and edible favors are the best bet. And by useful I would mean anything that doesn't have your name/date on it - honestly I would not want anything that had another couple's name on it, etc. I'd probably toss it.
I am actually considering something very similar as pp with the photo coasters and personalizing them to each guest - time consuming, but I think worth it.
We are also doing a Venetian Hour towards the end of the ceremony with cheescakes, cannoli, etc.
