Re: Post the best pic you've ever taken. Huge PIP Thread

  • I like your big wave shot, Sara.

Celtic, aren't the Swiss meadows amazing?  When I went I was still shooting film, and the processors lost that roll when we got back.  I'm still not over it.
  • Celtic - You have been on some amazing looking trips!

  • lol you guys are putting my photo taking abilities to shame! I guess I need to actually start taking more- I am really bad about that.

I love the swiss ones, I want to go there someday. Also celtic I love that you got that photo right before you met FI!

  • I have like, none of my pictures left. Stupid reformatting.

This one is from my first photo class. I think I just needed a shot of something "in motion" because it was a skill project thing.

This is the snow melting in the field at my house back home. I just thought it was neat.

My BFF and I liked to take 9000 pictures of each other, and this is my favourite.

  • From a trip to Ottawa--The Parliament building

My favorite picture of Hogwarts from my trip to Florida last summer.

  • I love traveling! I have been very lucky to have gone on several trips out of the country, many of them partially funded by my father. He has been all over the world and encourages me to do the same. I went to Ireland with my sister for high school graduation, and studied abroad in London during college and Switzerland in grad school. I also went to Rome, Venice, and Vienna on the Swiss trip.

Switzerland is my favorite country and I would really love to go back. Unfortunately it's quite expensive!

We're going to Belgium nd the Netherlands in October for our honeymoon and I am super excited. I think we're both looking forward to that more so than the wedding.

  • And this is one of my favorite pictures of all time although I most definitely didn't take it. My grandmother was gorgeous.

  • This is one of my favorite ones.  I was in Air Force ROTC for a little while during graduate school.  President Obama came to speak at the University of Texas in Austin, and I was going to Texas State University-San Marcos at the time.  Our detachment got the opportunity to be at Austin-Bergstrom when he landed and got to actually go and take some pictures in front of Air Force One.  I snapped this one right after we took the group picture on the steps of the plane.

  • Dot, it was really cool. Lots of hard work, and some tasks were a little boring. But it was amazing to be able to walk around and see all the floats as they were being decorated.

  • The only places I have been out of the country have been Mexico and Canada.  Mexico, twice (once with my parents and once with my college marching band) and Canada once.  The Canada trip was very interesting.

  • Everyone has such amazing pictures! I want to travel so bad. I never go anywhere.

[QUOTE]I've been out f the country one time and that was to Mexico. Years of being a single parent put travel on the back burner.

<div>I can understand that Dot. My mom has always been in sort of the same boat, although she is also terrible with money. I know she is jealous of all the traveling my father does. She went to Italy in college and would love to go back with me someday. I'm not allowed to go to Florence without her.</div><div>
</div><div>Despite growing up in New England I have never been to Canada but I have been to Mexico twice.  </div>

  • I have a stack of pictures in a box that I took when my family and I went to California.  Some of them are really good.  I don't have the CD for them anymore though, so I have to scan them all by hand.  Maybe that will be a project I will undertake this summer in between wedding planning.

  • I got lucky with a whirlwind European tour study abroad in college. We were in London, Paris, Barcelona, and Berlin, weekends in Scotland and Ireland, and we went to Rome and Venice after the program ended. I defintely would suggest it to anyone who can. I want to honeymoon in the Highlands or Cinque Terre.
