In Response to Re: Confessions? Vents? AWs? : I am really sorry to hear this is going on, but the tough love side of me wants you to know she is being really inappropriate here. I mean, I think her feelings are normal, but by acting on them enough to make you feel bad is just wrong. I would talk to her even if it is going to make her feel bad. Let her know how much you love her as a mother and that those feelings will never change. Let her know that you will never stop being her daughter either. Maybe make plans for monthly mother/daughter dates?
Posted by MeaghanandMichael
<div>Monthy mother/daughter dates can't really happen, since I'm moving 5 hours away.  She's not bemoaning it every time the wedding comes up.  She's told me many times how much she loves FI and has been a huge help in the planning.  It's more like every so often she just gets teary eyed and tells me how much she's going to miss me, because I'm starting my own family.  It can't help that we're moving close to FI's family, though she has said many a time how happy she is that we will be near them.  It's just a complicated situation, especially since we're so close.</div><div>
</div><div>Next time she does get like that I'll say something to her along the lines that you mentioned, hopefully that will help.  And then drink wine, per MilkDuds' suggestion.  :)</div>
• Vent: One of my close friends always forgets conversations we have. She gets drunk during the weekends and blacks out. You can't really tell that she is drunk, so I just found out a few weeks ago that she doesn't remember a damn thing we talk about.

She text me last weekend and we had an hour long conversation about her new hair color. Well, she text me last night to tell me about said hair color. The conversation was the exact same.

It's frustrating because I have to pretend that we didn't talk about (whatever subject) 50 times before. Plus, sometimes I give her advice about some of her backstabbing friends and she completely blacks out and doesn't take my advice. I am also worried about her health. Grrrrr

• Tide et al--I'll post a thread with a kitty litter update in awhile.  I want to see how long it lasts.  So far, I'm impressed.

My puppy has the mange.  She is covered in red bumps that look like mosquito bites.  She scratches herself until she bleeds.  It is all over her body, face and head.  I took her to the vet at the first little thing I saw on her and it took them a month to diagnose it as this.  They thought it was an allergic reaction and kept giving us antbiotics.  I cry almost every time I look at her.  She is also going bald.

The type she has is not passed to people.  They say it all dogs have the mites that cause it and they are passed from the mother during feeding.  Only about 1 in 10 puppies actually get the outbreak.  We have to bathe her every 2 days, spray her daily with medicated conditioner, give her medication from a dropper by mouth AND baby benedryl twice a day.  This will go on for at least 6 months.  I just want her to get better and not rip herself apart.  FML

Thanks guys.  She even seems embarrassed by it and puts her head down when we walk.  I'm going to go cry in my pillow for a little while so FI doesn't see me.

WTF?  How did it take them a month to diagnose that?  Mange is one of the first things that they look for with skin conditions.

Did they suggest using an E-collar at all?  You may be able to use one for a week or two, to prevent her from scratching herself while the medicine kicks in.

• Confession : I have really not eaten anything today and I'm worried about this. I've noticed since we came back from vacation I have no desire to eat anything. I'll think "I'm hungry" go to the fridge, not find anything I want to eat and leave. This morning I had a bowl of cereal at 9am and didn't eat anything until about 10 minutes ago when I had a baked potato.
• Oh no, lea! Sorry to hear  :(

• I'm a little bummed my leg's actually feeling worse than better. Last week, I was doing a lot better with the brace; this week, I'm aching everywhere, and I think I'm overextending myself/leg. So tomorrow, I'm going to start using the crutches with the leg brace again and keep some of the weight off of it.
I may even ask the doc for a temp handicap placard. We've lost 80 parking spaces at work, and classes start in 2 weeks with all 3 colleges at the university. There's no way I can make it to the school from a lot 3 blocks away or down (and God knows up) 4 flights of stairs from the top level of a parking garage.

I was hoping to be able to bike again after my appointment in 2 weeks. I'm guessing I won't....

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
• Demon kitty is getting so much love tonight :) She's doing good KD. Been acting like her usual self and eating like a pig.

Tide, I wouldn't recommend it with the 7 cats unless you have automatic litter box. The litter clumps turn to sawdust and if a cat steps in one they track it everywhere. It's fine if you can limit the litter box motion but turns into a huge mess if you can't. Like if you have 5 kittens who are all 8 weeks old in a cage...ugh...
• AW - got my first two RSVPs today! Well, we got one yesterday oo, but whoever sent it forgot to write their names on the card. All I know is that it was postmarked in Boston (helpful, huh?). So today we got the first two real ones. One yes, one no (which we were not sad about at all. We were hoping this person would not come).

Vent - the scheduler from my doctor's office called to set up the appointment for the procedure for my fibroid issue. She announces that she wants to do it today. Seriously? Don't you plan these things ahead of time? So I get permission to leave work early, and she calls the doctor to finalize it. She then calls back and says the doctor wants me to have a blood pregnancy test first, so it will have ti be next week. I assure her that there is no way I am pregnant, because the fibroids have pretty much eliminated any desire for procreation. She says she will talk to the doctor and call me back. She never does. I don't think they will be able to do anything before the wedding at this point. It is going to be a heck of a honeymoon.

• vent--It's been 3 weeks and I still have a hole in my toe. It's healed to where I just need to cover it with a band-aid instead of gauze, but I'm tired of dealing with a freakin wound. And it will be a few more weeks before it's healed enough to where I can put a special lotion on it--part 2 of the healing process.

Damn my toe!
• AW: I'm going back to school.  It's kind of sudden but if I don't finish soon, I'll never finish.  The degree I'm really close to finishing, I'm excited about it.  But they have a new degree that I would love to have even more....can't decide what to do.
• Tide--No I won't ask aha but it does show why I'd be scared because I know the high risk of more surgeries to come.

Sco- It was mentioned a few times but I have to "start over" since I moved away and whatnot so it won't happen until next year if it does.
I have 4 hernaited discs and  a disc disease that I'm always forgetting how to spell or say.

• Yeah boo. But on the flipside I have a very real chance of getting my weight out of the 150's before I ovulate again, so that would be a definite plus.
• Confession: I am still pouting about my MOH's lecture yesterday about the weight I've put on.  I skipped work today so I wouldn't have to see her.

Vent:  See above.

AW:  I'm also done redecorating the bathroom!  I'll post pictures whenever I get motivated and finish it.

Ahh! That's horrible! That's exactly why we aren't relocating yet. We don't want to start all over again with the docs. I feel your pain (well, J does, anyway). He had a disintegrated disc that they tried to fix on surgery one, then they fused him on surgery two, "undid" the fusion on surgery three and is looking at surgery 4 for a spinal chord stimulator.

Crappy, Play. I hope you can quit hurting soon!
