Bizarre Stories, Paranormal or Not

Re: Bizarre Stories, Paranormal or Not

  • I'm now freaking out in my apartment alone.  Thanks guys :P

The only one I really have was when I was in HS.  We went to New Orleans on a band trip, and one of the days had a tour bus take us around the city.  We did the cemetary tours too.  When we were leaving, and on the bus, I looked down at the sidewalk and noticed an elderly man in a wheelchair.  He was missing both legs, and dressed in some kind of military uniform.  He looked very, very sad.  I looked away because I didn't want to be rude and stare.  But I looked back a few seconds later, the expression on his face was just so unbelievably sad.  He was gone.  He was right next to the bus, and in the amount of time I looked away even if he left, there was no way he'd be out of my line of sight.  There was a big wall that enclosed the cemetary on the other side of the sidewalk.

I even went up to the front of the bus, couldn't see him anywhere on the street.  I mentioned this to our tour guide and he was all excited, saying how there were plenty of ghost sightings around this area of the city.  I don't believe in ghosts, but I still can't figure out where he could have possibly disappeared to.

Um, I went back to sleep.  No point in annoying a dead person when you have class at 8 in the morning.

My parents have always had a knack for picking out haunted houses.  The first house we lived in in the DC area was in Alexandria.  They had converted the attic into two rooms, and because I was the oldest, I was the only one up there.  The other room was an office.  My little brother and my parents slept downstairs.  I was in bed reading one night, and a puff of smoke accompanied by the sound of an explosion came out of my closet.  I screamed until my parents came up, but they swear there was nothing there and that I was imagining it.  Imagination my foot.  Dad talks now about how he used to see soldiers running around the front yard of that house.

The house in SC was definitely haunted.  I hated being the only one up.  There was a constant feeling of someone watching you.  Nothing too crazy - maybe some weird noises every now and then - especially on the stairs.  If the house got too quiet, you could hear footsteps.

And my parents' house now is ridiculously close to Manassass Battlefield.  I will not go down into the basement by myself - as soon as you walk down there, you get this terrible feeling that if you stay, something bad will happen.  The dogs hate going down, and I usually have to convince one of them to go with me.  They frequently will growl and bark at thin air, and I've seen Peaches go full out psycho on absolutely nothing.  I'm kind of excited my parents are leaving that house because of it.

ETA: My non-paranormal bizarre story.  When I was in middle school, my best friend lived in CA.  I was out to dinner one night with my parents when I got a terrible feeling that something bad was going to happen.  As soon as we got home, I called her - she was about to slit her wrists and commit suicide.  Knife to the wrist.  We talked for a long time, and she got married last month.

  • I don't really have any paranormal stories but those freaked me the eff out!

I do have a bizarre/creepy story similar to Jemmini.  When I was a kid we lived in a house that backed up to a HS football field so all the neighborhood kids would always go over on the weekends and play in the grass or ride around the track or play in the huge Eucalyptus trees.  One Saturday when I was about 9 I went ahead of my little brother who suddenly had to go to the bathroom at the last minute.  When I got there, there was an older man..older than my dad, who started talking to me and asking me if I wanted to do a job for him. I told him no I was waiting for my brother and he said he'd give me money.  Something in me told me to go home NOW and I ran away and said I needed to find my brother.  I told my parents what happened and my mom immediately called the police and my dad took off out of the house.

A short time later my dad came back and my parents walked me around the corner where the cops had the guy handcuffed to the chain link fence and asked me if that was the man and I remember saying yes.  I never knew what happened to that guy and it wasn't until I was older (college) and thought about that story and realized holy shyte i totally could have been raped and or murdered or kidnapped that day!  Still scares me to think of what could have happened if I wouldn't have had the feeling that I needed to get out of there.

  • I don't have paranormal stories but I have an interesting tale to tell you about my Mom. My Mom is particularly close with the other family members in our family. She seems to have this connection and can tell when something bad happens to one of us and can somehow get an idea of what will happen in our lives.

My grandmother, her Mom, died of alcohol induced hepatitis. My grandmother was at home and collapsed. My Mom at that time was working and keeled over feeling nauseous. She called my grandmother and managed to get her to the hospital. My Mom called the whole family to get to the hospital. The family told her she was overreacting and that my grandmother was going to be alright. My grandmother died three days later with just my Mom by her side.

In 2009 we were having dinner when Mom turned to look at me and said, "You're going to meet someone before the end of the year." I smiled but didn't say anything. Then BF/now FI dated and became official in November.

In January 2010 FI and I went on a trip out of town before school started again. We were in a bad car accident that knocked me out and broke my pelvis in four places. According to the police report we crashed at 2:37pm. At home, my Dad was watching TV while my Mom was dusting on top of a chair. She suddenly got nauseous and had to run to the bathroom. My Dad said this happened at 2:37pm according to the TV. She said, "Something happened to Jordan."

I feel it's not going to end anytime soon. It's kinda creepy but I think this is just some type of gift my Mom has. A few months ago we were going for a walk outside when she stopped walking and grabbed my hand. "Five," she said. "Five what?" I asked. "Five kids. You're going to have five kids. I don't know if they're all naturally born or some adopted but you're going to have five kids with FI." This completely stunned me. She also told me my first daughter will be sensitive like herself and that I have to make sure to be there for her while she's getting used to it.

I can't help but be a little hesitant but then again my Mom gains nothing from making this up and so far the things she has said happened so FI and I will have to see...
