Because we're doing the Vegas wedding (11 a.m. ceremony followed by lunch reception), we decided that we don't need a DJ / band -- we thought people could go out afterwards and party. Now we're hearing a lot of -- "your not having a DJ -- why???"
Do you think its worth the expense or are we being reasonable?
Re: No DJ / Band at Recption
We're using an iPod at our in-suite reception.

Our wedding is at 4pm and we're treating our guests to dinner following the ceremony. After that, we're letting our guests know that they are welcome to tag along with us as we wander around. We won't be hosting a dance party, but we do plan to come back to our dinner venue later in the evening when it converts to a nightclub.

[QUOTE]You are being very reasonable. There's nothing that requires you to have a DJ or band. I've only seen those at receptions that are in a hall or venue of that sort. I think that's what we're envisioning -- just not sure how to convey it to guests.
We figure that no more than 15 or so people will take us up on the offer. There's no set plan, FI wants it to be spontaneous. Our dinner is at Rumjungle in the Mandalay, so we'll probably start at Red Square for vodka shots and see where our whims take us from there.
