Wedding Woes

Everyone lost

I should have made one of the poll options "immediately scream to a room of about 20 relatives 'I'm going to be a grandmother!'"

Typically birthdays in my family mean a quiet dinner and cake with immediate family only. Apparently this year one of my cousins decided to have a party for my mom, and I had no idea. So, I intended to tell my parents and sister early, and let everyone else know in a couple months. Looks like the cat's out of the bag, though. I'm still keeping it off facebook, but I figure it's only a matter of time before someone else posts about it for me.

Awww, she's happy.  Sucks everyone else knows though.
  • OMG, I almost asked what the reaction was...then I re-read.  That is a GREAT reaction!

  • Yikes.  I would've been really upset, but I guess you can't change the situation anyways.

  • This is weird and bumpish. I had to go to Target to pick up a perscirption right after I called my mom. While I was waiting for it to be filled, I tried on clothes and fell in love with a tight, totally non-maternity top. I told myself it was stupid to buy a shirt that will only fit me for maybe 3 months. Then I talked myself into it by telling myself that it would counteract the bad mojo of everyone knowing too early.
  • You may be surprised how long you can fit into your regular shirts.

One of my favorite shirts to wear during pregnancy was not a maternity shirt.  It was a 3/4 sleeve tunic style shirt I bought at NY&Co. a couple years ago.

Oh and my mom and dad called everyone they knew when we told them we were expecting.  After my mom jumped up and down and cried.

  • I'll be the lone dissenter: I had to buy new pants at 8 weeks. And I kept buying new tops, because as soon as I found one that fit, my boobs would grow again. I went through a shitton of clothes while pregnant.

At least maternity stuff will fit you, so yay for new clothes!

Well, crap. I knew I hadn't been around much, but I didn't know I had missed a huge announcement!

    Congrats. Due date?
