Normal age to get married

Re: Normal age to get married

  • I'm 22 and he is 23.  A lot of our friends are getting married this summer as well or have already gotten married or will be getting married in the next couple of years (2-3 yrs max).
  • We are both 24. We started dating in high school and a lot of other couples from high school have already gotten married or are getting married soon. We are right in the middle of the pack.
  • We'll both be 23 by the time we get married in September. My best friend is 25 and got married when she was 18, but I think we're both pretty young compared to the average out there. I'd say betwen 25-30 is probably the norm in my book.

Don't worry about age though. Who cares what others say- its about whether you think its right for you. Be happy and have fun!

  • We will both be 23.  We've been together for 6 years.  A few friends in his circle have gotten married and are in their mid-late 20s.  My circle is still part of the dating scene for the most part.
  • im 20 and my Fi is 22. We are young, but its not uncommon in our group or the area we live in. i think it depends on the part of the country you live in, because i think its more "normal" to get married younger in the south.
  • I'll be 27 and FI will be 30 when we tie the knot. We're both in the middle of basically all of our friends getting married. Well, our college friends. We're both from really small, Southern towns, so a lot of people we grew up with are married and have a few babies.

  • I will be 23, FI will be 28. Only one of my close friends is married, but he is among the last within his circle of friends. I know I am younger than the average, but I agree with all those who said age doesn't matter. It's all about knowing the responsibility you are about to take on and knowing yourself.
  • We will be 30 and 31 at the wedding.  Most of our friends that are around our age are married or engaged.  I just recently went back to school for a career change and a huge majority of my classmates are 19-22yo.  I don't know of anyone there that is engage or married, its quite a different lifestyle!  I'm also in New Zealand, and I find people here tend to put off marriage til their late 20's 30's in favor of just living together in long term relationships.  It helps that de facto partnerships are recognised by the government.
  • FI and I will both be 27 when we get married.  We're the second pair to get married from this generation on his side of the family and the fourth for my side.  Then again, I'm the second youngest on my side and he's one of the oldest.  Out of our friends?  We've got quite the mix of single and married.

I'll be 30 & my FI will be 31.  In my large family, average age to get married is around 23.
