B&M Monday

One of my high school classmates passed away yesterday. This is the second one in 6 months. I went to a small high school(only 190 in graduating class) so everybody knows everybody. His older sister just had a baby a couple of weeks ago so what should be a joyous time for their family, isn't :(

I'm so sorry - what sad news!

I hate CL people.  We have been trying to sell some extra furniture and household items from us moving in together.  Yesterday we waited for a buyer to show up at 5 to take one of our couches, and got an E-mail at 5:30 that said only "I can't come at 5."  Well no ****, sherlock!

Seujoanne, I'd be careful about people coming over to your house (if that's what you're doing).  There was a family who were trying to sell a diamond ring on CL and they got robbed and they shot and killed the father...in front of his wife and kids.  It was just recently on CNN.

I had a 4 day weekend and it was so hard to come back to work today.  But I'm kind of glad because my eating can get back on a routine.  I pretty much said "screw it" to Weight Watchers eating since Thursday.  :( Not looking forward to the scale this coming weekend.

I just feel grouchy today. We were in the car ALL day yesterday, driving back from Corpus Christi. My cousin's party was so much fun. She, Stacy, is the one in the glasses. Congratulations, class of 2010! Next is my brother's party in June.

The prom went well.  It was almost disappointing to not have something blow up because last week so many people were throwing their prama at me.

I only ten more days of zero period for the school year.  I love the kids but I hate the time.

jYes, I heard about the CL murderers too.  It's just so frustrating to have this perfectly good stuff that we just cannot get rid of.  :(  Any other ideas on what to do with it?  Twin day bed, sofas & chairs, kitchen ware, a like new filing cabinet...  :(

tnickel- I'm so sorry for your loss.  T&P
Mariah- I went to San Antonio this weekend and feel like I totally blew any diet I had going on.  Sigh.  I feel like a whale.  At least we're back to it- double gym this week for me.

I'm insanely tired.  I have no idea why we have school after the TAKS test.  We are practicing cursive.

Julie - how was the whole 'celebrity' thing?

Seujoanne - you could always donate it - would you want to do that?

Tiffany - in the final stretch - EXCITING!

tnickel - how very sad - I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm doing okay today - just pissed that it's Monday.  I hate Mondays.

After answering the phone at work today (I usually say my name when answering) I've had 2 people call me "Mya"  WTF??  Am I really saying my name so badly they can't here the "Ma-Rye-Ah" Seriously?  There's an R in there people!!!  I'm going to start saying my name so delebrately slowly that there's no way they can get it wrong and when they do, I'll friggin' correct them.  I HATE when people get my name wrong.  It's not that hard.

The celebrity thing was fine.  It was just a case of our adults blowing it out of proportion.

Mariah, I went to Starbucks on Saturday to get two drinks for myself and my sister. On one they wrote Henna and on the other they wrote Hannah. Hmm... I'm fairly certain I said Anna both times. I also get Annie and Ana a lot. But I'll answer to anything :)

Mine is Joanne - sometimes I spell it JoAnne because it makes it easier for people, but I get Joanie (as in, Happy Days) and Julian.  WTF?

My last name is a girl's name as well, and 50% of the time  people call me that. Especially in email when I have the full name in my signature???

Ugh...and I moved back home for a month before the wedding. My high school brother moved into my bedroom, so I'm trying to shove all my crap in his room and I'm officially sleeping on the couch for a month. I want my own place!!!! But then I have to share it with Jay!

My name is Julie.  Obviously.  When I say my name for a reservation or what ever I have been asked how to spell my name or seen my name written "July".  I told someone once that was the month.

Well my name is Lacey - and I always get Leslie or Tracy.  *sigh*

My name is Marlene. I tend to get Marlena a lot. Or when people spell it, they spell it Marlean, Marleen, or Marline.

I just got asked if I was pregnant....and I'm not. Yell Gimme a break people! It's my "week" and I'm not looking so fantabulous!

I finally quit my job and I feel great!!! A huge load has been lifted off my shoulders.
  • edited December 2011

Marissa - I know how you feel!  We shuffled rooms a lot when my siblings and I headed off to college.  My brother had been the only one with his own room - so when he left, I took his room.  When I left, my sisters split and each had their own room.  My mom built two new rooms after that, so we all theoretically had our own rooms, but somehow I never did because we always had guests and I was the one who got left on the couch.  Thankfully now that I'm married someone else has to sleep on the couch and we get our own room.

Mariah, I just bit the bullet!! I just could not take it anymore, it was stressing me out way more than wedding planning ever has. We're going to be on an extremely tight budget until I find something but I am happy.

Kris- Good for you! Sometimes the work place can be so toxic and it's much better to get out.

This is more of an "I can't believe what I just saw" post.  I overheard a coworker I don't know talking about her November wedding.  I heard where she was registered (she sits next to me, so I'm not eavesdropping) and decided to go check it out.  She's registered for $14,000 in items at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (close to 300 items)!  And she's also registered at Neiman's and Williams Sonoma, so I can only imagine what those totals are.

Maybe my experience was just really different, but we only registered for about 70 items and we didn't even get half of those.  But David's entire family also doesn't buy presents and just gives cash.

Can I chim in a little?? My name is Deepthi!!! I dare you to try it...lol exactly how it's spelled but never gets pronounced right. My last name is simple but I won't put it on here for security reasons. I'm an easy Google.

Steph -- I think it has to do with how many people you invite. When we were talking about registries they told us to register for at least 600-700 items cause our guest list was 400+ people. With bridal showers, engagement, and wedding there are a lot of things people can apparently get you. I'm just saying.

Btw.. what does B&M Monday mean?
