Have you had dinner in one of our taverns? I would try for Shields or Kings Arms Tavern. Christiana Campells is our seafood tavern. It's a little more pricey than the others. Or there's always the Williamsburg Lodge Restaurant's famous Friday night Seafood Buffet.

I would get a historical pass and if it rains you can always spend time inside the exhibits and shops on Duke of Gloucester Street.

Sadly Williamsburg is mainly Colonial Williamsburg or shopping. You could always take a drive down the Colonial Parkway. It's about 14 miles and you can take it from Jamestown to Yorktown.

• My physical therapist gave me permission to knit again.  I started last night, and I was way too excited. I'm making this:
• There is no way I can catch up with this thread, but I wanted to say I never get tired of kate#'s dog. And happy early b-day!

And I loved Williamsburg and now I'm getting the impression I missed out on some cool stuff. Taverns? I knew nothing of this when I was down there. Must make new trip!
• Six years ago today (also Friday the 13th), my great-grandmother passed away.  She was 99 1/2.  It wasn't incredibly sad, since she was so old, but I'll always remember it.  Plus I graduated from Purdue two days later.

Sigh . . . it's my last day of work before the WEDDING!  Just finishing up some things and lunch with my ladies! :D

My great grandmother was also 99 3/4 when she passed.  So close to 100.  She was born 1901 and lived until 2000.  Pretty darn cool.

Happy Friday the 13th!

I actually got engaged on Friday the 13th.

Today is my LAST DAY at this job! Yippee!!
We may go to a Ren Fair this weekend. Next week (on my week off! woo!) we're going to have a picnic at a winery and go hiking. Planning to do some shopping next week.
• Stupid FI is running a 5k tomorrow and he refuses to have pizza tonight because he wants something easy on his stomach. Doesn't he realize that its FRIDAY NIGHT and that is PIZZA NIGHT

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Yeah, we're planning on doing the Kings Arms Tavern for lunch or dinner. Havent decided yet. We also heard about another awesome breakfast place, but for the love of me, I can't remember it's name at this moment.

We bought the annual pass. We're planning to come back in July or so with our neighbors for another trip and a trip to busch gardens :)
In Response to Re: Friday the 13th. EEEeeeek! : Some of those pictures are pretty neat. It always amazes me how many people take pictures of dust, dirt, bugs or whatever and just because they're on a ghost tour they automatically believe its an orb. I think its from watching too many episodes of Ghost Hunters. =)
Posted by lovethebeach16
I completely agree! I saw some of those pictures and I was like "That's just dust from the road!!!" But then some pictures were pretty neat. We're taking our camera tonight :)

• Oh how I miss Friday pizza night.  FI and I used to share a large thin crust pizza and cheese sticks EVERY friday night.  To the point where if we didn't show up the manager of the pizza joint would call us to make sure we were ok. Embarassed No wonder I gained 20 pounds... haha

My great grandma lived to be 102. She had 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren, and 2 great great great grandchildren. I can't fathom a) being that old or b) having that many descendants.
• Good morning! H woke me up this morning by rattling a paper bag. I kinda looked over and saw a card. Great, I forgot to make/buy his card. I'm guessing everything about this trip has gone wrong because of what day everything was supposed to start on. I didn't even realize what today was!

We're going shopping in a bit to get some rain jackets, walking shoes for H and a messenger/cross body bag for me. We went out to dinner last night and I only had 2 glasses of wine. Well, I had forgotten to eat all day, so it hit me HARD. Kinda funny though because it came out of nowhere.

• Pizza sounds really great.  Maybe I can make Sicilian pizza.  H and I have all the ingredients...hmmm.

Good morning! I'm glad it's Friday but once again I couldn't figure out if we were having casual Friday or not so I dressed inbetween. And I got here and looked at what other people were wearing and I'm still not sure so maybe everyone was confused.

I'm pretty excited about the weekend. I'm making arancini tonight, which should be delicious. Tomorrow I'm taking my dress to get it altered, then going to lunch at Chipotle, then going to see Bridesmaids. It should be a good day.
• Wow Lynda and Kate!  Over 100.  That's amazing.  I'm not sure I'd want to ever be that old.

My Grandpa's sister is in her mid-90's and still lives on her own on a farm.  Go women.

• Oh, TK, why did you eat my post.

Ncsu, if you really want some serious shopping you should go to the outlet mall. It will definitely keep you busy and out of any rain.

And please go to Yorktown. I grew up there and my family still lives there. Everyone always forgets about it, but that is where Lord Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington effectively ending the Revolutionary War. It's beautiful and historic and there are some great markers on the battlefield trails. Fun fact: if you get there by driving down the Colonial Parkway you will drive through a section that was in the movie "Minority Report". Tom Cruise drove his futuristic car through there. It's also just a beautiful drive.

• Dear Habs, we are getting married the same day. That is all.
• Today is my last day of working in our church's nursery this morning. I almost forgot. I was awake, but talk about getting up in a hurry.

Anyway, it is moving weekend for me. Hopefully H and I will have a day together tomorrow before my Dad arrives to do a few fun things.

<div>We went out to dinner last week, and the food was taking forever.  I hadn't eaten all day, so my tall Sam Adams hit me hard.  Back in the day, I could drink with the best of them, but not anymore.  I was DRUNK off of a tall beer.  Slurring and everything.  I was pretty embarrassed.</div>
• Today is my first full day at my new job, so I'm already lucky :D

I love Williamsburg!  Used to go occasionally when I lived in Arlington.  I want to go back there sometime with H.

Has there been any updates on Sam and Diane's baby?  Did I miss it?

I was not lol. I can still hold a whole bottle of wine, but that's assuming I'm eating with it. Both of the glasses were drank while waiting for a table lol
