Yeah, anna. That's what you said just now.  But originally, you made a snide comment about<strong> how people would probably understand how childbirth works better if they played in their menses</strong>.  THAT'S what everyone was reacting too... but I'm not sure you understand that, because you refuse to respond to everyone who called you on that idiotic statement.
Posted by Steph0871
<div>
</div><div>No, I said people who play with their menses are also probably also educated and aware of how their reproductive system works as a whole. Because they are interested in it obviously. I never said playing with your menses was a requirement for knowing about childbirth. </div><div>
</div><div>And yeah, maybe the remark was snide and off the cuff. But this whole thread has been pretty eyeroll worthy to me. People like Nicki just strike me as such "live and let live" kind of people and I think it's lame to pile on about her personal life choices like I saw earlier in the thread. </div><div>

• Why can't we think Nicki is weird? I don't give a fuuck how nice she is.

Also, regular blood doesn't bother me. Neither does guts, brain matter, or menstrual blood. None of these things bother me in the slightest. Even messing with regular blood doesn't weird me out. But menstrual blood is waste and it is dirty and unsanitary.

So you know exactly how every single part of your body works and what alllllll your organs do?

I once had to write a 15 page essay on what happens when muscles contract.  That might be important for some people to know but for me, in my life now, no.  Not really.

• I don't think everyone or even every woman should know the "nitty gritty details", I just didn't know that what I said was considered a detail to some people. To me it's one of those things we all just learned along the way sometime after learning the stork doesn't actually bring babies, but clearly that's not the case for everyone. That's fine, now I know, but originally I was surprised to see what jcb thought because it's something I thought the majority of people knew.

Sorry, I had to run out for a second so this is old news, just wanted to clarify.

This is what I was referring to. And no, you don't need to know on which day the egg splits and all of that bull shiit. But knowing that the umbilical cord is attached to the placenta, which comes out after birth seems pretty 8th grade health class to me. And refusing to learn the basics of human reproduction because it doesn't affect you or something just seems ignorant to me.

And no, childbirth =/= knowing about the African famine, but it was the best analogy that I could come up with the demonstrate what I was thinking.
