TMI QOTD - 3/27

What are your thoughts on wedding night sex?  Is it a must do?  An unrealistic expectation?  Did you or are you planning to?  Will it upset you or did it upset you if you do not or did not?

Re: TMI QOTD - 3/27

  • I'm doin it!  My mother always says we'll be too exhausted and noone gets around to it bla bla bla and I think its giving me an even bigger drive to do it just to prove her wrong.  You'll never again have your wedding night, so you'll never again have wedding-night sex.  I think it's important.  Unless we are realllly sick or something I don't see how we could not.

  • We will definitely be having sex on our wedding night. We'll have abstained for almost 10 months. There's no way I would do that to FI either. I think it's something really special. Even if it's not a bug huge ordeal, you should still make the effort.

If you can make an excuse on your wedding night...what's to keep you from making excuses for every other night?

I would like to have sex on our wedding night but I am a realist and know that we will be tired and it may not happen. And if it does happen I will have no expectations for it. If it isn't the best sex we've ever had I won't let it ruin anything.

  • We plan on doing it. I told FI that if we didn't, I'd be filing an annulment the next day (however, I was just kidding). But really, we do it almost every other night so we better on our wedding night.

  • Honestly, we both prefer morning sex anyway. If it happens on the wedding night, great, if not I look forward to rushing to brush my teeth in the morning before we get busy.

Since this is a TMI thread, are you nervous it will hurt after abstaining so long? When FI went to basic we were apart 4 months and when he came home it was painful :/<div>
</div><div>We definitely plan on having sex! Our reception should end around 10 so it won't be super late and we're never too exhausted for sex lol</div>
  • 100% for SURE doing it. We havent yet and dont plan to until the wedding night. There is no possible way we will be too tired! haha!

And I agree with Kelsey.... if you can make an excuse for your wedding night, it would be so easy to make excuses for every other night of the year! You only have on wedding night!

  • We are going to do our best, our receptions isn't ending very late so by the time we drive home (45 mins) we should still have time. I do not have expectations for it to be off the charts but like everyone else said, you only have one wedding night together and I want to make it official.

This is the exact reason we didn't choose to start abstaining.  If we go even a week without it it's like losing my virginity again.

Can I also just make a little PSA here?  I read somewhere that some larrrrge percentage of women get UTIs regularly and I just want to announce that if you go pee after (within like 10 mins after you finish) you can prevent them!!  I used to get them regularly too until a nurse told me this and I haven't had one since (except for one time when I fell asleep & didn't go after)!  I don't mean to threadjack, I just want you guys to know!

That's really interesting! And I hear ya on feeling like you lose your virginity again. I had BV and a yeast infection for like 2 months and we didn't have sex. It hurt when we started up again

  • Yes, Although we have enjoyed sexual activity before. I look forward to having wedding day and night sex. Since we are getting married in the Dominican and our wedding is at 12. We plan to have lunch with our guest from 1:30 -3.  I thought we would do an excusion with our guest afterwards however, FI stated he wanted to start our honeymoon after the lunch. So, first around 4 then dinner and them back at it again. Then we will be back out to see our guest.

  • I look forward to wedding night sex since it will be the first time for either of us. I really do not know what to expect, but I know we both are looking forward to it.

Hopefully we will not be too tired. We have a 2.5 hour drive from the ceremony/reception to the hotel. We also have a 6:00 flight the next morning.

  • Yes ladies, most UTI's are caused by sex. UTIs usually occur when fecal matter gets into your urethra, so depending on your sexual position, the penius rubs against your anus and pushes that shizz where it don't belong.  Peeing clears the shizz away.

And as for pain, I have a weird condition so if I go a week with no sex it hurts. For the ladies who are abstaining, use lots and lots of lube.

  • I hope it happens but if not it won't be a big deal.  We leave for our HM the next morning so there will be plenty of time then.

  • It will happen. No matter how exhausted I am. Unless FI gets too drunk and can't... perform... its going down.

  • We'll at least try! Our reception ends at 10 so it won't be late, it's just a matter of how tired we are. Well, more so how tired FI is, because it's mostly up to him! Haha. He usually doesn't have a problem when he's tired, but it takes him a really long time, if ever, to finish, and I get tired after a while haha. I've had my share of UTIs, and after the first two I learned about going to the bathroom afterwards. Sometimes I'll still feel them coming on, but then I drinks tons of water and cranberry juice and that flushes it out, no doctor's visit or antibiotics needed. But I need to catch it really early for that to work.

  • This! Our reception is over at 4pm, we will say our farewells and head to our hotel, sex it up, dinner and round two. Women in our family have a libido like a prisoner on a life sentence- so say a little prayer for my guy!!

  • I would like to, but it'll be like Valentine's day and birthdays - we're not going to force ourselves to have sex "just because" it's a special day, if we do it it'll be because we want to.  And most likely, we'll want to!

  • Definately having sex the night of.  FI gets frustrated with me because I am always more tired than him.  If he had his way we would have sex a minimum once a day, instead its like 2-3 times a week. Let's face it working full-time, chasing around 3 yr old twin boys and a 9 yr old daughter, making sure the house is taken care of, and planning a wedding is exhausting.  I'll suck it up on the most important day of our lives!

Haha, this is what I was thinking too! Actually, in the Catholic Church, the marriage vows aren't complete until you do the deed!

Also, our reception ends at about 5:30, so there will be plenty of time :

Also also, I just realized that with the new mobile site I can actually post from my phone now! Woohoo!
