Dear Knotties,

Has anyone gotten laser hair removal before? I bought a Groupon the other day for 6 sessions and I am curious as to how well it works?

    Dear knotties who have already passed their one year anni, Do you believe it's true what they say about the first year of marriage being the toughest? Not that you have many years after that to compare it to, but I was just curious. -Curious knottie

    I remember having a discussion about laser hair removal not too terribly long ago, but my search didn't locate the thread...
    I used to work at a laser hair removal "medi-spa" (at the front desk) - and have had several treatments.  A couple thoughts/notes on it:
    -yes, it hurts
    -the laser seeks the contrast between the follicle and your skin (thus works best on dark hair with fair skin)
    -the laser only kills the follicles that are in a certain growth state (thus the need for more than 1 treatment)
    -from my experience, 6 treatments is pretty much a standard package, but most people need more than that to completely get rid of hair
    -any areas I had lasered still do have hair, but it is thinner and lighter

    I have had it done in three areas.  I just finished the last treatment on the last area two weeks ago.  And yes, it does hurt!  I say it has worked pretty well in most of the areas.  The bikini area is the most stubborn though.  I am not sure which area you are getting done, but I definitely do have a lot less hair.  I have some blonde hair mixed in on my legs so it didn't get rid of those.  Hope that helps!

    I think that is probably somewhat true.  Ben and I had to sort of learn who was going to do what, he had to adjust to being a stepfather, etc.  I've said it before--marriage is not like dating.  Things don't change as much as they evolve.

    I am so excited for you and all the other Knotties this weekend.  I have to admit I'm a little sad I don't get to help.  I can't wait to see everything!  Oh and I'm so jealous you're going to Maui!  Drink a Lava Flow for me!

    I am getting my underarms done. I have always been super self-concious about them because my hair is so dark it looks like I never shave when I shave EVERY DAY. So hopefully it will make a difference! Thanks for the info!

    The venue has now changed their mind again and said I could come in on Saturday to decorate (apparently their event canceled... who knows what to believe anymore!), so I'm taking me, FI and about 10 friends with us before the RD to decorate.  Hopefully we can get it all done and not have to worry about it on the wedding day!

    I had to stop using Aveda products for that reason.  My stylist told me I was probably allergic to a certain flower or somethng since it is all plant-based.  I was bummed.  Plus my hair fell out alot when I was using it.

    Dear Brianna,
    I guess that is good--but I wish you didn't have to worry about it at all.  In the end, just remember, it's not worth sweating the small stuff.  It will be beautiful and you will be married and that is all that matters.

    I think one of the reasons why they say the first year is hard is because you move in together after the wedding and you get used to each other if you hadn't already moved in together.  We had been living together 2 or 3 years before we got married so we had already gone through that adjustment.  Aside from the crap MIL threw at us and did, it was not a bad year at all between us.

    Dear someones GF-

    I like you, I really do.  I enjoy your company and so far you share first place with someone else of my favorite GF's for your BF.  I realize you have been dating for a whopping 9 months, which is honestly the longest relationship he has had aside from his marriage, but uprooting you and your childs life to live closer to him?  Seriously?  Don't.  You are 20 minutes away now.  I know you see the BF side but I guess we see the friend we've known for over 10 years.

    When are you going to learn to keep your mouth shut?  You know very well who is the blabber mouth around here but you continue to share information with them anyway.  And you are right, you are the idiot for even opening your mouth.

    We haven't set a time yet, so I'm still going to try to make it!   Since it is early in the morning and fairly near the house we are moving from... I might be able to swing it. :)   All of our boxes are already at the new house... I will let the boys take care of the furniture.
