Evening!

I've had a fairly productive day. Enjoying having the house to myself, and some chicken and corn.

How is everyone today?

Re: Evening!

  • Finished all of the thank you notes!  Drinking wine as a reward. About to go watch last night's Scandal
  • Oh, way to go Muni. That was nice and quick! How are things now that the wedding is over? Feeling nice and relaxed?
  • Somewhat.  The house is still kind of a mess.  We need to go through all of our kitchen cabinets and reorganize them this weekend.  Then start trying to sell some of the wedding things like centerpeice vases and the cupcake display H made so we can get them OUT OF OUR SPARE BEDROOM.  I'd really, really like to reclaim that room.

  • Hi people!!! I'm currently bursting with excitement because I got a call back about the law clerk position I interviewed for with the county attorneys office...and I GOT THE JOB!!! I was almost in tears, I'm so happy.
    image
  • Sounds fun - but I'm such a nerd that I like reorganizing. I'm also really looking forward selling my wedding stuff. I like all of it and everything, but like you say - it takes up a lot of space.
  • Hello!

I'm hanging out, eating dinner I don't especially want, and trying to force myself to like iced tea. It's going much better than expected.

MUN, your wedding is over? Was everything awesome?
    image
  • Congrats Musu!!! I'm so happy for you. I'm glad our vibes worked : )
  • YAAAAAAY MUSU!  That's amazing!  Congratulations!

And Gretchen, pretty much everything that could have possibly gone wrong short of us not getting married did go wrong.  We were rained out, we had a power outage through half of the reception, H's father passed out and we all thought he was having a heart attack.  It was chaos.  But at the end of the day, we were married and the cake and beer were good.  That's really all that matters, isn't it?
  • Well it's time for the Honeymoon, I am packing. I cannot wait to go, we are really looking forward to it!
    image
  • Thanks guys. I walked out of the bedroom (where I took the call) and J and my brother were in the kitchen and I pretty much jumped into J's arms, I was so happy, haha. This opportunity came by such a stroke of luck, I can't even believe it.

  • Muni, my great grandma passed out at my wedding and the paramedics came. Our weddings have something in common! hah. But really, all the photos I've seen of you, you look absolutely radiant and you would never guess that anything went wrong all day.

  • Holly - any time anyone says Vegas Vacation I just think of Clark Griswald.

Gretchen - Why do you have to force yourself to like iced tea?

Hoooooly balls! I would've absolutely lost my shiiit. Good beer and husband make up for just about anything, though, haha. Congrats!

  • Aw mari you will have a great time! :)
    image
  • Oh, goodness, Musu!  Was she okay?  Luckily my dad is in charge of the emergency medicine for an entire county and both MIL and our wedding coordinator are nurses, so we didn't have to call an ambulance!

And thank you!  I think I kept it together pretty darn well, considering!

I feel like it's a healthier alternative to soda (maybe?). Also, I have a hard time accepting the fact that I love hot tea and hate iced tea. Like, why? I'm wondering if I'll like it if I just force myself to drink it long enough. This is what happened with coconut water and Kombucha.

<div>Honestly, I would have expected myself to lose it too.  But somehow it didn't get to me as much as I would have thought. </div><div>
</div><div>I would have completely lost it if it had started raining before we took any photos though (we did first look).  We picked the place largely because we wanted to do our wedding photos on the grounds.  But the weather held out for most of photo time, thank cheezus.</div>
  • Musu - do you give your dogs really nice treats when you're celebrating something? Because I do. And I'm wondering if I'm the only wierdo that does it.
  • Yeah, she was fine. She just got dehydrated for some reason. They brought her to the hospital and she was ok after a few hours. I didn't even know it happened because she was sitting in her chair at her table when it happened and I was on the dance floor. It wasn't until the music stopped (because my cousin requested them to) before I was like ok WTF is going on. It was super awkward w/out the music on though so I went over and was like "Umm can you at least put some Michael Buble on softly or something?" hah.

<div>haha I DID give both dogs treats actually. They were jumping up around me because I was cheering and acting all crazy, lol. I'm going to run down to the grocery store soon to get some ice cream to celebrate. :)</div>

<div>Hot tea and iced tea are two totally different things. It makes sense to me that you might like one and not the other. I personally like both, but when I'm in England I get "Oh, would you like some new tea? Yours must be cold by now." a lot. They can't comprehend the fact that I can enjoy it both ways. </div>

<div>I usually go out and get them the rawhide treats with doggy safe icing on them from petsmart. </div><div>
</div><div>Enjoy your ice cream. I still have some of hte B&J Red Velvet left. I'm impressed with myself for making it last so long. </div>

See, this is something that, to me, even if I did like iced tea, would probably bother me. If I'm drinking a hot beverage, I want it to remain hot. Like, I like iced coffee sometimes, but cold coffee that used to be hot is a whole other ball game. I lose interest in it entirely.

  • Wow you go all out, Poke! Haha I just gave them one of their little biscuit treats. They are going camping for the weekend with J and my brother, so I will have the house to myself. Which will be awesome.

  • MuSu- Congratulations!

Good evening. I just set up our spare bedroom for our house guest tomorrow night.  I need to work on my invitations and get them sent out ASAP but the task looks so overwhelming I'm having a hard time getting to it.

Grades got posted today and I did better than I thought. I was worried I wouldn't keep my scholarship, but I did.  I am very relieved- and I graduate in May!

  • What can I say? I love to spoil my puppies. I'm actually looking up a recipe to make a really good dog treat for the wedding.

And I think I'm wierd for not minding when my hot drinks get cold.
  • Yay - I'm not alone! Sometimes I can take a rediculously long time to drink my hot drinks. If I didn't like it cold I'd be so wasteful.
  • I drink my hot drinks after they get cold too.  So we'll all three be strange together.
  • This is why I heart you guys, you validate my oddities : p
