[QUOTE]Ok, I've held this in long enough. FI and I loaned FMIL $600 because she was helping FI's brother and wife out. FI's brother and wife have 2 kids and are the worst with money. They blew their money one month (last March) and went to FMIL (FI's mom). She said she would loan them money to pay rent. She then came to FI and I (who are very responsible with our money) and asked for money so she could give it to FI's brother. I said no, but FI is a lot nicer then me so we loaned her the money. We were told that we would be paid back in April. It is now 1 month until our wedding and we have NOT been paid back yet. We are pissed! Because of their irresponsibility we have to suffer. It doesn't look like we're going to get paid back and because of that we are going to have exactly $357 dollars spending money for our honeymoon. We planned and budgeted and save then this happens. I'm so pissed I could cry and I just want to yell at them to grow up. You are a grown a** adult, start acting like it. Alright, flame over.

I flame people who complain about their jobs constantly. I would do A LOT to be holding a job right now. The job market is not easy right now and you are lucky that you even have a job. I'm sure your job that is so *terrible* is a lot better than stressing everyday and wondering when your finances are going to run out.

Not having money because you are jobless does suck, but having a job you detest is almost worse. I used to get sick all the time because I was always stressed about my job. Anyway TK is a great place to vent: there are other people in the same situation as you.

I know I'm one of these people. Trust I am happy to have a job! Especially in a stable company, but most day I want to just walk out. I don't because of the economy. I have bills, wedding, car, whatever. I do get annoyed I went to school for 6 yrs to be in a job I could have gotten after I finished HS.
If you are looking for positions in anything try places like Baylor, UT Southwestern, and other medical centers. Normally any of the admin, front desk, and assistant jobs don't require too much experience and can be easier to get into.

    Ezzy,

I agree with you 100%. There are a lot of feelings that go along with having a job you can't stand, just like there are being unemployed.

BUT, if you don't know where your next meal is coming from because you don't have any income...that's a different story. So in that sense, I'm thankful to have a good job, no matter how much I may hate getting up for it every morning.

A lot of people complain about their jobs, if you are lucky enough to be employed, there will come a time that you will complain about your job. It's inevitable.

I was stupid and quit a job in retail in May because I hated it and graduated from college that same month. I was naiive and thought, "hey, I have a degree now, I can get out of this craphole retail job and find a CAREER."

Um, yah I want to go back and slap that Brooke. The job market is tough and there are thousands of people in my same boat right now.

So, I get complaining about a job and I don't want to seem hypocritical, because I have done it too. It was more directed to the people who do it constantly and don't pause to think how lucky they are to have a job.

Ok, I'll take your word for it.  Since there was no reason to even mention the JP or 8 days things, I'm sure you can all understand why someone would read it that way.

Sorry for jumping all over you, I'm just tired of reading judgmental, petty crap on this board, when all I want is to just get local information for my wedding.  So I guess I'll keep in mind why I left Dallas in the first place, and stick to the on topic posts.

Brooke.anne -- You can trying taking the Train or bus. I take the train in from T&P when I'm in FW and it drops you off at Medical Center. Parkland, Children's, UT Southwestern, St. Paul, and Zale - Lipsy are all right there. It's a commute, but at least you don't have to drive.

Ballsy move, calling all of Dallas judgmental and petty.  You seem to have a problem with the idea of stereotyping (you jumped on the idea of stereotyping a JP wedding or pregnancy before marriage), but you don't mind stereotyping all of us in a passive aggressive way.  Touche.

OK - so, uh, no offense, but have you actually been around on here very long? Judgmental and petty really isn't what this board is about.  And, in my humble opinion, you jumping all over Natalie was a little judgmental and petty... but hey, that's just me.

Also, if you didn't know FFF stands for Flame Free Friday... which means we're allowed to flame WHOMEVER without catching crap (i.e. yours)

You haven't been around very long but you'll come to find that this board is very helpful... if you'd like a big dose of snark, jump over the E board and see how you feel then.

Also... the "have a nice weekend ladies!!" ending was a friendly little middle finger (well, may as well have been), or did you not mean that sarcastically?

I complain about my job all the time, but I've never once lost sight of the fact that I am very lucky to have one.  I'll be the first one to tell you that.

Unfortunately, my company knows we are all thankful to have jobs (esp. after a 40% workforce reduction last year) and takes advantage of it (to say the least).  My job hasn't always sucked.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a great career.

Having said what I said above re: judgmental and petty, I do find the irony somewhat amusing.  Person A flames person B, person B then flames person A, and then person B gets flamed again for flaming back (theoretically, person B's flame should be flame-free as well).  Maybe it should just be Flaming Friday. :)
