I had a really good experience purchasing my dress. It's from Davids Bridal of all places. I can't remember the young lady that helped me, but she'd only been working there for like 4-6 months. She was EXTREMELY helpful, and VERY nice. I didn't even have an appointment. And we stayed in the store almost 30 minutes after closing.
It was picking UP my dress that i had a horrible experience.
Brianna Ocones is where my sister and I looked for dresses for the Margarita Ball and they were the sweetest ladies ever! I felt bad telling them that I didn't find a dress I liked. My sister did get her dress from them.
So I was totally supposed to get my ultrasound results on Tuesday no later than 3pm. I didn’t hear anything so I called Wednesday morning. I got the “we’ll leave her a message and she’ll call you back” answer. I didn’t hear a damn thing all day, so I called again Thursday morning. I got the same thing that I’ll get a call back… Sure I will... when I didn’t hear anything back by noon on Friday I called back up there, that’s when I was oh so kindly informed that there wasn’t a single doctor in the building for the day. How freaking wonderful.
I still hadn’t gotten a call back, so I just called them…again. He tried to give me the whole “she’ll call you back”…my response.. “to hell she will, you’re going to put me on hold and go get her. This is BS, I’ve been waiting on my results since Tuesday morning….” He went and got her J Results: So I don’t have gallstones, all my organs are apparently working in tip top shape…aside from a slight heart murmur…but I knew that was there already. Now she’s trying to convince me I have diabetes…ugh, to heck with her. And that freaking hospital!

Julie is the only person I know that had a good experience at Mii's. I had a horrible experience, as well. My best experience was Circle Park Bridal. I also had a relatively crappy experience at Lulu's. The consultant was all nice and friendly until she overheard my MIL say she liked the dress at the other boutique better. Then the consultant left my room and NEVER came back! ::sigh:: So glad I am done with that whole experience.
New to this board, not to the knot. I figured I would start posting over here since I will be living in the Dallas area in 4 months.
My B&M is about FI
That guy is KILLING ME! AHHHH 1- he has yet to ask all his GM. we have been engaged over a yr and a half, and now we are 4 months to the wedding and he hasn't talked to 2 of the guys. One is getting married about a month after us and the other is national reserves/ and police academy. Basically it would be nice if BOTH of them knew now so they could plan accordingly in their own busy lives.
2- he keeps telling me he wants to help because he knows I am busy. I said I appreciated it and have given him a list of jobs that he would like. He doesn't have to do anything with flowers or colors. Favors, ceremony and music. The 3 most important parts to HIM. But I have to harass him every single week to get things done. I finally told him that it would be less work if I actually took care of it without his imput today, because harassing him is no fun and a PITA. I feel like I have to berate him until he is upset for him to think its important enough to get done. That is not my idea of fun. grrr

BBF haha yeah. I have been around TK for a year and a half or more now. I post a bit on E&SB but mostly May 11.

my B&M is that I seriously think every dumb, horrible, idiotic driver in the state of texas all live in rockwall/rowlette, and they ALL seemed to be out on my drive to and from work today....to come to think about it they are there every day!!!!!!!!!! uuugghh I get the fact that obviously don't value your life, but I really love mine and I happen to enjoy being alive and in one piece so will you please stay at home from now on kthx!
ALSO, I hate when I go on to other boards and there are these upity biatches who talk down to girls who choose to go the buffet/action station/carver route with their receptions instead of having a sit down plated meal.....I am sorry not everyone out there can afford to shell out a rediculous amount of money to give people what you think is a good idea at THEIR wedding, personally I think you should just shut up
lastly, I only went to one place to find my place, it is called "Emma's Boutique" it is in Red Oak, and my experience there was AWESOME! The girl helping me was so great, the owner was there and even helped me pick a veil that looked awesome, and the alterations lady is sssssooo nice. If Red Oak isn't too far of a trek for some of you, you should definitely check them out!

i have seen it on various other wedding community websites, but earlier today i was on the "wedding 911" app from the knot and this girl was talking about pricing for her wedding and was asking about buffet/action stations vs. plated dinner, and this girl got on there and was being nasty about how trashy/tacky it was to have stuff, and how if you cant pay for a plated meal then you shouldn't be getting married, i wanted to get crunk on her, but instead I came here to B&M mm man and cheese station that sounds awesome, i LOOVVEE mashed potatoes so we are having a potato bar
Shortgirl bought her dress at Mii's too but I don't know how she would rate her experience. I had a good experience. My dress came in in the time that I was told it would. I called them, I was proactive about my dress. It turned out beautifully. However, I already knew that I didn't want to go the David's Bridal route or the Alfred Angelo's route mainly because I was getting married in less than six months and I knew they were going to want to charge a huge rush fee.
I really am very sorry that Mii's was that way with you. And, in all honesty, I probably could have found a beautiful dress somewhere else but I was absolutely dreading the wedding dress portion of my wedding and I just wanted it over with. They had something I was fine with and I was glad I was able to cross that off my list and move on.
Julie - Let me know if you decide to come so I can look for you after the show. Though I understand if you don't make it, it's a bit of a drive. But our Peter is wonderful, I really can't believe how talented she is. She gives me goosebumps when she sings!

The shopping experience at Mii's was fine. Before I went, I asked for recs for salons that were plus size friendly and narrowed it down by seeing if they had the dresses I wanted to try on. But it seemed like after they had my money, it went down hill and I was less than pleased but it wasn't a nightmare- everything worked out.
