My mom's budget was about 25k, but in between the extra my parents ended up putting in and things we paid ourselves for it was probably around 30k give or take a bit. This doesn't include honeymoon.

That is definitely not the average cost for a NJ wedding.

We spent around $60k, not including rings or honeymoon. Things got out of control very quickly. LOL But I have to say I feel it was worth every penny.

Ours will end up being around $48000 but that is including everything down to the HM including spending cash, the rings, all vendors tips etc.

Ours is right around $40,000 including honeymoon and extras.

Seeing everyone else's budget makes me feel a little better though. I should shares this with my FI to show him that other couples spend this much too haha

I think we ended up around $55k by the end- not including HM/rings, but it was well worth it

Crazy how my original goal when we 1st got engaged was no more then $30k. Then we priced things out....

My original goal was 20k...I'm proud that when all is said and done, including honeymoon and rings, we should be around 30k. Still more than I have and wanted to spend, but not bad in general. My wedding is only 150 people though

Although I have $25K+ to spend, my budget is $15K. So far, we're on target. Apparently my budget is ridiculously low.

According to this wedding stat board on Pinterest (LINK) the average wedding in Northern NJ is $49K & apparently we have the most formal weddigns. Who knew!

Our original budget was 35K. That got blown out pretty quickly. We've then went to 40K but it looks like we'll be around 47K not including the honeymoon.

Thank goodness for overtime!

Just out of curiosity, how much did people spend on just the Reception Venue alone? Ours was just under $12k. We tried to keep our vendors under $5k, but I think they ended up being about $6k total. Then, we probably spent about another $2 to $3k on other items (invitations, dress, favors, rings etc.) I did quite a bit of DIY stuff.
So, not including honeymoon, just under $25k..and honeymoon is another $2500.

I think it really depends on the size of the wedding. We are over 40k without honeymoon or rings but invited 270+.

I'll give rounded figures.
Venue- over $20 for 125 ppl
Vendors so far (incl hair & makeup)- hovering around $11 (no officiant yet)
Rings - The guys rings are so cheap! This is going to be around $4
DIY/Misc items for wedding/gifts - around $2000
Tux - Estimating $500
Dress & all items pertaining to me/Invites- my parents are covering completely

I believe it. Almost every wedding-suitable place here - regardless of cost - has an opulent look, and few people have large enough space to have the backyard weddings that are so hot right now. I lost track of our budget toward the end (we bought a lot of non-floral decorations), but I want to say it was $42,500, minus rings and honeymoon. We had 150 guests.

The reception is @ The Newark Club. We're an interfaith couple therefore we are also getting married there... Cost of ceremony there, parking (the valet people store the cars in the gararge behind One Newark Center), Maitre D, etc. all got rolled into that.

Fiance wants a custom fit tux so he is purchasing it.

Best wedding I have ever been to was @ a camp ground in PA. That's right, a camp ground. I've been to weddings all over NJ in some of the "best" places, and this wedding and couple, beat them all out.
