I had the craziest/awesomest day yesterday. I have mentioned in the past how I've had difficulties with a coworker, and how my current manager is... well... weak. We were told yesterday that our current manager is moving into a different role, and we will be put with a newer/current manager who I respect the hell out of. She has completely revolutionized her group in the 9 months she's been here, and I am SO EXCITED to be able to work with her.

Now, I have to think about what I really want out of my job and position because she will make it happen. AGH! And YAY!!

BTW, my troublemaking coworker? TOTALLY PISSED that she's not going to be moved into the management role. BUAHAHAHAHAHHA.

I'm on day three of my 9 day stretch, in one week i'll be off for five glorious days. Cannot wait. We're not going anywhere. I just won't have to work. It's pretty busy as I have a lot of groups this week. Next week is slow (hence why I'm out the last half), then I'm gearing up for two very large family reunion groups the week of the 4th.

Good morning! Yay, Snippy!

I only got 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Ugh.

I'm bummed because the only other geriatrician at my job gave notice on Monday. That means that in my division (normal internal medicine + geriatrics), we are down to 5 people from 8, and of the 4 people hired in the last two years, I'm the only one left. Guess who is going to have the worst call schedule this upcoming year?

On the other hand, my lectures have been getting great reviews from the students, and I am having fun with a couple of my curriculum projects.

Snippy, that's awesome! I got a new manager at work a couple months ago. She's good, I guess, but my last manager was stellar and we had a great relationship right away. I don't have that with my new boss. I've been super busy at work and home. I feel like I need a day off just to hole up at home by myself, but I doubt that will happen since H is pretty much always home.

Dileni, I'm jealous! I haven't been camping in ages. How do you camp? I admit, we don't rough it at all. For us it's more about spending time with family, friends, food, and beer.

FI and I camp out on a non-electrical campsite, tents, sleeping bags & and no electronic devices (except when it is pouring we watch a movies on our laptop), cook our food over a fire, go hiking/fishing/canoeing etc. We camp at provincial parts. So I guess we rough it out?

This time we are going with another couple & some people they know, and since my FI's friend's & his FI booked - they booked an electrical site, which we didnt really want (costs more), since she needs a hair straightener & some other important stuff lol.

I am watching Breakfast Television & they are promoting arts & crafts for kids and the lady brings out a japanese saw & is going on about how its good for kids & how we should let kids use them (japanese saws cut at the pull instead of the push). Lol what is this.

I am still employed after last weeks mental meltdown. My boss is out for the next four days, maybe I can breath. He actually left me his library book and said ," find someone to return this, it is overdue." Who does that?

Between work drama and wedding drama I am afraid I am on the edge. thanks for letting me drop in...again

That sounds so wonderful for your Snippy. It's great to have a manager you can actually respect, will see you for the hard work you do, and reward you for it.

MK, sometimes days off with nothing to do are exactly what you need. I hope you enjoy them to their fullest!

Mica, do they plan on replacing those doctors? If not, I'm sure you can handle it! I'm glad you're getting great reviews on your lectures at least.

I totally want to go camping again. I haven't been in years and the last time I was camping it was just for my favorite festival. This is gross but when we go there, we don't even worry about showers let alone a hair straightener.

H got off work from his new job early yesterday so he picked me up whilst walking back to the apartment from the bus stop. I didn't get nearly as much done with the gifts/thank yous/cleaning up as I wanted to. Boo.

Morning, all! Snippy, great news on the job front. Dilen, more power to you for camping. NMS, but have fun! Mica, ugh on a lousy call schedule, but I'm glad you are enjoying the teaching. Cfas, glad the enchiladas turned out well.

I am really sore today. I started refinishing my kitchen cabinets yesterday. We (meaning my younger daughter and I) got all 23 cabinet doors off and hinges removed. She sanded abut 4 doors then lost interest (kinda of what I'd expect from an 11 year old). I got all but 8of them sanded before I ran out of sandpaper. So it's off to Home Depot today for some more. I've also got a luncheon date with a bunch of ladies from church (gah, that sounds too much like Kristen#!). We are going to a wnery, so it should be fun and quite tasty. I'm driving, so only little teeny sips for me.

Happy summer solstice! Is it Friday yet? Bleh. At least I have yoga tonight.

We haven't gone camping in forever. It's way too hot for it now. We are going canoeing in a couple weeks, though.

Yay for the new manager, Snippy! It sounds like that will be a very good change for you.

Good Morning!

FI is pretty much a comic book nerd (makes his own and sells them, the whole thing). Anyway, we usually stop at this shop on Sunday morning so he can get his books. For the past couple of weeks he's been talking to the owner about this b-party they are going to tonight. I thought it was kind of strange since it's a Wednesday night and all, but I just ignored it as it didn't concern me...or so I thought.

Last night I was asking him what he wanted to do for dinner tonight and he reminded me that we have this thing to go to tonight. I was immediately confused as it's been referred to as a b-party and as I am not a stripper, I didn't think I was invited. Then he responded, well, it's a b-party, but for a fictional character. Huh?

Yeah, so apparently there's a homosexual X-man character named Northstar that is getting married in one of the new books, so they are having a b-party for him as an event/chance to drink for the guys (and SOs) at the store, since I believe he said it's the first time there has been a same-sex marriage in a comic book.

So, that's what I'm doing tonight.... Going to a b-party for a fictional character. If I didn't know it before, my suspicions are totally confirmed that I'm marrying a complete nerd

Dumdum, my H is a comic book nerd, too. I think I'm the only female that regularly visits our local comic book store. I know all about gay Alan Scott. Also, there was a gay wedding in an Archie comic a few months back, so this isn't the very first one.

I need help from cat people.
