Any opinion on the Blood Type Diet by Joseph Christiano?
I bought the book today to check it out and I know 2 people that appear to have had amazing success with it. I'd love to lose weight using this but would be happy if it would just help my digestive issues regarding certain food types.
Anyone tried it, know of it, or have any advice?

Yay! Mall Santas!
It's just that there's her birthday (the 9th), and then Hanukkah (mom's side is Jewish) and Christmas 3 weeks behind that.
Kid's gonna love December.

I pretty much cut both of those out during pregnancy, and never really took them back up, so that's not SUCH a big deal.
But, I'm Italian. Cheese and bread are in my blood, DAMNIT.
I was just reading about it on the website. I'm Type O, and the description of my "type O" personality is pretty spot on. And then it went on to say that Type Os should avoid wheat and dairy. No pasta or cheese? Eff that.

It's much more specific in the book. Seperated into beneficial, neutral, and negative foods. Most cheeses aren't beneficial for me (B) but the majority are neutral. The only dairy I should avoid are American, Blue, and string cheese as well as ice cream (which doesn't sit well in my stomach anyway)

I don't know. I don't think it would hurt to follow the guildines, but I also find it hard to believe that health is broken down so cleanly (at least that's the impression I get by the website).
What does the diet tell you to exclude?
Posted by ricksang
A lot of stuff, but normal exclusion for type b include chicken, pork, black beans, lentils, cashews, sunflower seeds, artichoke, corn,, coconut, rhubarb, barley, rye, wheat breads, tomato, soda and a bunch of stuff I don't eat regularly anyway.

Do you wants some evidence based articles/research? I can send you some.

I believe it also says we should eat a lot of red meat. And well, eff that. Meat makes me sick.

It seems very easy. Not a lot of things actually cut out of my eating, just altered.
The Recommended foods certainly are nutritionally sound, everyday items.

Haha. I was reading the other blood type recommended foods, and have to admit that I'm glad I'm not type A. I couldn't be a veggie-tarian.

Rub it in why don't you :P
I don't know, it reminds me of an experiment my friend was in. Take this diet pill, drink 8 glasses of water and exercise for at least 30 minutes daily (or else you would experience nasty side effects). Amazingly everyone in the study lost weight! Yeah, it was a sugar pill, it just forced everyone to exercise out of fear of "side effects".
No clue if this site <a href="http://www.chasefreedom.com/eatrightforyourtype.html" target="_blank">(link</a>) is legit, but it has some interesting thoughts.

Cool. Looks ike it's worth a shot anyway. I've hit a plateau anyway and I don't think it's harmful, just not proven to be beneficial
