    My e-ring and wedding band:

ETA: Forgot to mention...H bought my e-ring first, and he really wanted me to have a band, so we picked the band out together about a month before the wedding. I think they almost look they were supposed to be a set. I'm glad we were able to find a match.

Wrkn... I love love LOVE that first ring you posted!

Regarding wedding bands, my goal is that once the band is on my finger, it won't come off. I might take the engagement ring off from time to time, to clean, etc, but the wedding band will stay on. With that said, here are the ones that I've liked when BF and I went to look. i truly have NO IDEA what he has decided to get me.

That one I would wear with a very thin wedding band that mimics the bottom row of diamonds.

    Or this:
Again with a wedding band that matches, so the same width as the e-ring, but plain.

I sadly don't have any pictures of the ring I fell in love with, and now it's discontinued and sold out... BF will likely try to hunt it down, but if that doesn't work, he'll probably have something made.  I told him that if he wants my help designing a ring, I'm happy to be a part of the process.  We've been together on this every step of the way, and have already made the decision to get married and told our parents (last weekend - yay!).  So I suppose you could call us engaged now?  BF really doesn't want to put it on Facebook or start calling each other FI until he's had a chance to propose, but our families are now fully aware that we plan to get married September 2012.

This is the closest to the style I like that I can find:

Mine is posted earlier today.  I'm going to try and get a better pic tonight... it's so hard to take a picture to capture the sparkle!

FI said there's a few bands that go with my ring, so I'll see what they look like when the time comes.  I'll wear both rings, but I can see myself wearing the band only once we have kids.  Or even getting a different, simple band for everyday wear... we'll see.

No, I've been so busy with my job I didn't share!  Plus all the "are you engaged or aren't you engaged?" questions around here can get annoying.  So I don't want to make another thread.  I don't like justifying something that works perfectly well for us, especially when it's something I'm VERY excited about and don't want anyone to rain on my parade!

We talked to our families last weekend about our plans, and both families know that we want to get married in September 2012.  Everyone's delighted, but it's important to my guy to have his moment, so we're not posting on Facebook or calling each other "fiance/fiancee" until he's got the ring (another month or so, probably).  We're really, really excited, and very happy!  We just decided that we're planning from so far away that we wanted as much time as possible to plan.  Everything's super smooth so far - my father already had an amount for a budget that he was willing to put towards our wedding, so he has made a new bank account in all of our names (my Dad's, BF, and mine).  The sum is incredibly generous, and more than enough to plan a wedding.  So my parents are actually going to look at a venue for us this weekend!  Next weekend they'll be in Orlando with us for my half marathon, so we're all going to sit down and hash out some more of the details, but so far so good!

I love this game! And seeing everyone's rings is amazing. I am often pulled between wanting that dash of color and going completely traditional.

This is my current fave. I also like the band idea. I either want a nicer diamond band and that's it, or an e-ring with a plain band, maybe some engraving on the inside.

That was us also from November until January. We sat down and talked to both parents and they were on board, but we didn't want to announce it to the world until FI got his proposal moment. I can completely understand what you are going through. We started looking at venues and even went to a bridal show during that time period. It's stressful and frustrating at times. But remember, it'll all work out in the end! Good luck and congrats!

It's nice to know someone else has been in this spot!  It feels weird, especially after NEY has hammered into my head that you're either engaged or you're not.  Ya know, I just don't think life works out quite that black and white all the time.  I think it's an important thing to remember for someone who gets carried away on "someday" talk and starts planning unilaterally, but when the couple is on the same page, you've told the parents and siblings, and you both want to start planning together... I just don't see why anyone gets to judge that.

What?! You want me to AW my rings? O ok.

    Engagement Ring:

    The real deal:

Promise ring w/ wedding band (makes a good substitute when I'm doing something that I'm afraid will mess up my e-ring)

My wedding band is just a plain yellow gold band. I like it a lot. One day for an anniversary I might get a band with diamonds all the way around... but not sure.

This. My ring is part of a set that has a matching band. The band has a notch cut out of it so it sits flush against my e-ring. So if I do not want to wear my e-ring and band I will have to get another band.

OK, first time trying to PIP, so forgive me if it's a fail...

This is my dream ring, but since it's Hearts on Fire it will probably stay a dream, haha! Not sure I can justify the price, but if it wouldn't cause any debt, it would certainly be awesome! I love when a ring looks like a simple solitaire, but has pretty prongs. :) I would wear a band for sure, but I'm not sure whether I would want plain or diamonds.
