I'm stuffed.

Finished Christmas Eve dinner and am happily stuffed! Well, maybe not so happily.

What's everyone else having for dinner?

Re: I'm stuffed.

  • My parents are making a roast beef.  I get homemade mac and cheese, which I'm totally okay with.  And mashed potatoes which just make everything alright.

But maybe the baby will want a tiny piece of roast beef...hmm...

  • I think I have some leftovers in the fridge.  If not I'll have H bring some potato chips home from work.

And then I have a bottle of champagne.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Sucrets, are you a veggie normally? I forget... Funny though, I totally made a beef roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. :D

Betrothed, everythngs better with champagne. ;)
  • Agreed.

  • My parents and I are going to a place called the Samba Room- pseudo-Cuban food.  I think it's really mediocre, but they love it.  I do love the mojito's, though.

  • Amoro - yep, since HS.  I've had a few pieces of chicken recently, though.  I don't really crave it or anything, but I figured what the heck.  I think I made a funny face when eating it because of the texture.  Glad you had a yummy dinner!

  • Salmon, I think. Not sure what else, other than a nice bottle of Pouilly Fuisse.
  • My SIL was horrified to discover that her daughter loves hot dogs. lol... SIL is vegan. :D

Yeah, I may have opened one of the bottles of wine for our guests. Heh.
  • I don't know yet, going to ILs house with my mom but no DH (he has to work), so it will be a bit awkward, but dinner is always good at least!

lol!  I really like the Smart Dogs - the texture is pretty good and I feel much better eating them than the crap that's in regular hot dogs.

  • Probably leftovers. BF has to work and probably won't be off in time to make it to dinner at his mom's house, so we will just go over after he gets off. Or maybe he will bring me something from work.

But tomorrow is lunch at my Grandma's, which is a turkey and a ham, a billion kinds of casseroles, and the best homemade mashed potatoes ever.

  • Well, once she figured out that Sophie was going to eat hot dogs and nothing else, she bought the kosher all beef ones. lol
  • I plan to have a salad with grilled chicken in it. I need to save room for the nuts and bolts my mom makes every christmas eve. So full of fat and carbs and deliciousness. I worked out today specifically to make extra room.
  • Oh yeah, my nephew with Type 1 diabetes can down, like, 5 hot dogs in one sitting - and that was when he was 4!  My dad only likes the Boar's Head ones.

Apparently my dad made my nephew a hot dog pizza last time they were down.  I don't recall what all of the ingredients were, but I guess my nephew loved it!

  • It's just DH and I tonight.  Fried chicken breasts (parsley parmesan breading.. yum!) stuffing, biscuits, pumpkin parfait and homemade cocoa.  It's nothing fancy but I'm looking forward to it.
  • I'm making tostadas for dinner.  Tomorrow we'll use the leftover meat and potatoes to make breakfast tacos -- yummy!
  • We just finished our Christmas eve celebration.  I had my mom and brother over and Mr Stack had his parents over.  It was really nice.  Mr Stack cooked Chicken parm and we just stuffed ourselves and opened family presents.

Lil Stack is Out.of.control.....she now figured out that the pretty boxes under the tree have fun things in them and can't wait to open more.  Bedtime might be a fight tonight.
  • So late to this thread, but christmas eve dinner we were at a friend's house; she makes fantastic finger foods (including a lot of asian foods as she's from the Philippines) so we had lots of yummy stuff at her house. Since then though, every meal has involved ham. Ham and cheese croissants for christmas breakfast, baked ham for lunch with my family, baked ham for dinner with Nick's family, baked ham with eggs benedict for breakfast with our friends this morning, and likely left-over baked ham tonight for dinner. Too much ham!
