I'm watching Atticus on the webcam at Camp Bow Wow, we decided to send him on an overnight to get him acclimated for our vacation.

Hi!

I have to work for a few hours this afternoon, and I dreamed that I overslept. So, of course, I woke up hours before I really needed to.

So now I'm just killing time on the internet and cuddling with the dog. And (yay!) today is my birthday.

Thanks, KD! I think H and I are going out to dinner or something tonight, but that'll be about it. We're new-ish in this town and I don't really have any local friends. I'll probably spend a good chunk of the evening in front of the TV, but I'm pretty ok with that.

Morning ladies.

Love the paintings, Pirate! I'm impressed

happy birthday, Elle!

I'm ditoing Pirate this morning. Waiting for H to get up. He did wake up at 5 with the dogs, but now he's sleeping on the couch. I'm annoyed, because I want to start cleaning. He gets another 10 minutes until I start vacuuming around him

I'm not sure who will be more pissed at me- H or the dogs (they are currently sprawled out on the living room floor too.)

Laundry and grocery shopping today, same as always! If I get super motivated, I might hang up the artwork in the nursery. (Like I've said the last 3 weekends.)

Ricks and I live in the same town; she probably doesn't remember, but she told me about it when we first got here. I grew up in Louisiana, so I know NO pretty well.

We moved because H got into medical school (finally, after years of rejection and a masters degree) here. I say we're "new-ish" because we've been here a year, but I'm bad at making friends. It took me 3 years in Houston (where we lived before) to feel like I had a real life there.

Pirtate- Atticus graduates on Wednesday. Then I think we are going to move on to intermediate classes.

I know how you feel Elle. I lived in one place for 42 years, till I moved up here 4 years ago, and I really cant say I have any "friends".

KD - your dog's name is Atticus? Is that a TKAM reference or is there some other Atticus I don't know about?

The one on the left (black) is Puckett (like Kirby Puckett), but it's usually just Puck. The one on the right (tan) is Levi- we kept his name when we adopted him. It was the only 'command' he really knew, so we didn't want to take that away from him. ha

DJ- I'm sure the cats know. Looking back, Levi TOTALLY knew before I did.

Yes, we went through a lot of names but most people I asked picked Atticus, so it became number one. The meaning it actually "from Athens" but yeah we associate it with TKAM, too.

Puck and Levi. Aww. They look like good boys.

I feel like you can tell a lot about people by their pets' names. I roll my eyes a little at the "Rover"s and "Whiskers"s of the world.

...Then again, I have a cat named "Little Kitty," so I fail.

Morning. I stayed up way too late reading last night and slept in way too long this morning. My throat feels like crap, I'm nervous that I'm getting sick.

It is only like 79 degrees right now so I'm gonna try to hurry and get my run in.

Morning JCB and Duds!

I no longer wait on my husband, I'd go nuts if I did. And I definately dont like him to shop with me. I really need to get some stuff done before we pick up the pup at 4. But, I'm lazy.

I had a migraine yesterday and I'm sure my sinuses did not help.

I just ordered the shells I need online, since I cant find anything around here.

Morning!

FI and I got to bed fairly early (at least for me) last night. We are visiting my parents this weekend for my bridal shower and a couple's shower (both yesterday). We got a lot of really cool stuff. At the bridal shower, a bunch of people got me the collapsible bowls and measuring cups, and people who had never seen them before were all over them and asking where to get them.

My favorite gift out of all the gifts was one that my dad's godmother got us. She lives in the same area and attended the same church as my granny and papa (my dad's parents) when they were alive.

She had a cookbook that their church did as a fundraiser back in 1998 that had some of my granny's (and a few other relatives') recipes in there. She gave that to me with a little note. I'm really excited to try and make some of those recipes.

Once FI and get settled after we get to my first duty station, I'm going to attempt to make kolaches, which are hella hard to make, but are sooooo good.

After seeing how excited I was about that cookbook, my mom is now going to put together a book with my grandma's (her mom) recipes to give to me.
