Who are your favourite actors/actresses and WHY. Not for popularity or looks, but because you like their movies or them as a person.

I really like jason schwartzman - I like the roles he plays, though he doesnt seem to have a TON of range but I like what he does. I also like his band.

    I love Kevin Bacon, I don't think he has a bad movie.  And he's pretty solid as a person, or so it seems.

    Al Pacino, he's awesome, and I love everyone of his movies.  I would be fine watching Scarface once a week.

    I like Jason Statham, Ed Norton, Johnny Depp, and Omar Epps. Yep, that's my list so far. It is only 8 am, though, so I might not be firing all cylinders yet.

    I like Rachel McAdams because she's so versatile.  I don't think I have a favorite actor. 

    My least favorite actor is Adam Sandler.  He plays the same character in every movie--the happy-go-lucky goof who always has someone out to get him and somehow he ends up with a hot girl at the end of the movie.  WTF?  His movies are so boring and self-indulgent.

    I dont like forrest witticker but its more because of his eye. If I dont like something about an actors face, I cant watch them. That guy who plays henry 8th ont he tudors, I hate his lips so I cant watch him.


    Another I love: Kate Blanchette, natalie portman and james mcavoy (I think he does emotional scenes amazingly, hes intense).

    Liv Shrieber. He spends most of his time behind the camera, but when he comes around in front of it, he is completely believable in every character he plays. 

    Brittany Murphy. I can't put my finger on why I like her. Since she passed away, her more obscure films are making the rounds again. How did I miss her when she was alive?

    Agreed. The whole billy maddison, nonsensical jerkoff thing was kind of funny in the 90s but the dude is in his 40s now. him AND his schtick have gottena  bit old.

    My determination if someone is a good actor is when I see them in a movie and I don't immediately think of any other roles they've done.

    On this scale, I love Kevin Spacey, Johnny Depp, and (sheepishly) Brad Pitt.  In defense of Brad Pitt, he's really overexposed now and it's hard for me to separate the Brangelina from the actor.  But him in 12 Monkey?  Amazing!

    I would like Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin to fall off a cliff.  Thanks!

    EDIT:  oooh... Alan Rickman and Ed Norton.  LOVE!

    Ive really enjoyed pierce brosnan lately - he has been in a few smaller roles recently and I really enjoyed them. There was one movie he was in with susan sarandon and carey mulligan, and I think he was absolutely spectacular in that movie.

    Drew Barrymore, hate her hate her hate her. I think she is just... I dont know. She always plays flighty airheads with no substance. I think its a good thing shes gotten into directing. I feel the same way about the one with the big mouth... she was also in those stupid charlies angels movies.

    Jim carrey is AMAZING in serious-er roles. He was incredible in eternal sunshine. Albiet that is my favourite movie, I thought he was just amazing.

    OH, and I can't deal with Kirsten Dunst. I can't ever picture her as anything but a baby vampire. Her teeth are too pointy. 


    I really like Natalie Portman. I'm not exactly sure why, but I like her. 

    ETA: Jen, I can't deal with Christian Bale either. His mouth and teeth do not match and I just can't stand to watch him talk. Hugh Jackman on the other hand, is awesome.

    Haven't seen it.  There are a couple I can sit through (liar liar, dck and jane) but I tend to stay far far away. I think I'd like to see a more serious role.
