Disappointed: I would love to afford a big, catered weding.

Happy with our choice: I am happy that we are able to do the best we can with limited resources.

I love my FI more than words can say, and at the end of the day we will be married, and that's all that matters!!

I'm here, in between commercial breaks while watching Mad Men.

I have an honest question for you: why don't you just scrap the big wedding, save your money for when your FI moves out of his parent's house and while you're job searching, and just elope instead? You have everyone's address, so sending out marriage announcements wouldn't be that difficult. Just a thought. It sounds like your money situation is a huge stressor for you, and spending it on a wedding where you have to make compromises seems like a waste to me.

And we are doing pre-marital counseling (required by pastor - but we would still want to, I think) and he wants to make sure that is finished first.</div><div>
