    Thursday seems to be a pretty popular day!! 
    We chose our date because it's our 10 year anniversary and it just so happened to fall on a Thursday.

    My mom flipped and thought I was being inconsiderate to guests.  But, other than my mom, people haven't had any problems, especially since they've had more than an 8 month notice.
    I have heard some jabs about it being "in the middle of the week", but nothing too bad.  I do feel a little guilty though, because they would have to take off a few more days off of work than if I had the wedding on a Saturday and honestly, I think I've only saved a few hundred $$ - oh well!

    Same with me it was the 22 May that was important rather than day of the week and it has worked out a tuesday. We wanted that date as it was the day we got engaged in Vegas a couple of years back. We are having our reception in the same place we got engaged (stratosphere) We are coming from the UK was irrelavant to people what day it was as everyone is going to have to take time off to come anyway.
