But this (ans S's cutie cute invites) make me think I need to start thinking about invitations and maybe I too should start priniting some off now and getting a head of schedule.

duqcheer04 - I looked briefly on Etsy and found someone who makes rubber stamps out of pictures/photographs but thats not exactly what I want. I want a modern outline almost of the buildings in the skyline (if that makes sense?). So when we come up I was going to look at this one big stamp store and if I don't have luck there then I will talk to the Etsy artist to see what they could do. It would be really cool if they could put our initials and wedding date at the bottom of the skyline too so we'll see! Do you know of a recommended artist to use?

theres a ton of online shops out there who do that Kime- so look around for the best price if you end up going the stamp route

Kime - My brother and his FI are doing a "pittsburgh" theme for their wedding this oct - she found a graphic designer online who is making her a cute graphic pittsburgh city skyline for the invites - FSIL is paying for the design fees and the rights to the image and then designing her own invites etc. Let me talk to her tonight and get the name of the designer for you - it was very reasonably priced and very very nice!! I'll get back to you on this tomorrow!!

Have to run now... class tonight! I'll get the info for you though tonight!!

Sara - I am with Femme, I still like the J.Crew! I am sure the quality of Etsy dresses will be good, but I hate for it to be poor quality!

Hey girls,
We did STD postcards and magnets as well. I used vistaprint and got everything free (100 postcards and 75 magnets) it just cost me shiping.
Sara I like the Etsy dress, but like the J Crew ones better as well.
Recent checks were booking the cocktail hour musicians, making the kids acitivity books for the reception (for FG and RB), and making the bathroom baskets (bought all supplies, created a sign for them, and actually decorated the baskets), making my thank you notes, and giving my MOH my guest list for my shower.

In the next 2 weeks I hope to accomplish: booking the limo, buying FI's wedding band (we already have mine), creating a monogram to put on the OOT bags, registering at BB&B, and buying my wedding shoes if I make it to Pittsburgh tomorrow.

Hi Ladies!
I'm late to this, but here it goes..

Recent Checks - booked HM, almost finished registering, talked with Mom and MOH about shower (finalized date/venue/guestlist), made first appointment with florist, and NWR but still a huge check - signed lease on an apartment + bought living room furniture (!!)

Need to work on - meet with venue for tastings, pick out shoes, decide on shower dress, start DIYing ceremony decorations + favors.. probably more, but I can't think of them now

My wedding isn't until August 2011, so I have plenty of time. But as soon as my fiance gets home from work we're heading down to my parents for the night to have the budget and initial planning talk. My mom is so excited that she was having a hard time waiting for all of our tax documents to come (my dad is an accountant, so we're rolling it into a tax visit too).

Since we'll finally have our budget I can start calling around to some venues that i liked online to get more information and start scheduling appointments to go visit them when we're in Pitt in April!

Not really a check, but something I'm excited about none the less. I've lost another 7 pounds, only 20 more to go before I can fit into my aunt's wedding dress that she offered!
