NWR: Need dress help

I didn't think I was getting a B-party so I packed up all my clothes and they are stored at FI house until next Saturday. So I went out and bought a dress for tomorrow night. It's not what I would have put together with my own clothes, but it was cheap and I like polka dots. Well, in packing up, I also packed all my strapless bras. The girls are perky enough and don't really need the support, but I'm worried about flopping out of the dress sometiem during the night. I danced around in the dressing room and they stayed put, but I'm still worried. What do you think of making it into a halter? It came with a fabric 'belt' that I'm not going to wear, so I could sew that on as a halter. I could probably also give it for real straps. Or, I could leave it alone because I did buy some dress tape. Not sure what to do since it's a sweetheart. WWYD?

  • Is the pic of the belt used as a halter?  That is cute.  I actually like the dress quite a bit more with the halter top - it gives it kind of a vintage look.
  • I think it looks really cute as a halter.
  • It is super cute strapless, but if you'll be at all uncomfortable or worried about it then I'd say go for the halter, that looks great too!
  • Yes, that's the belt. It's just in there with safety pins. I would iron it out so it didnt' get all bunched up. It's wrapped right aroudn my neck instead of tied like a regular halter.

  • If you feel uncomfortable, go for the halter option.  BUT that said, I think the dress looks super cute as a strapless and judging from your pictures, your girls should have absolutely no problem behaving themselves.
  • I don't even know why people ask opinions on here. It's usually a 50/50 split. Gah! I like it both ways, I have no idea what to do! But, I love polkie dots, so I'm gonna be pretty happy either way. :D

  • It's super cute as a halter! It's equally cute as a strapless but if you're concerned about "the girls" and need some extra peace of mind, I say go for the DIY halter top. What a great idea! :)

  • I like it as a halter strap, but would sticky boob tape work to keep things contained if you went strapless?  That would probably be what I'd do, if you don't need the support.  Run the tape along the top so things don't fall out.

I personally think the halter straps are too close together, thats the best way I can describe it. I think where they are placed cuts you weird and it would look nicer an inch further towards your armpit on each side.
  • I like the halter a lot. But then, I like halter dresses and I personally feel more comfortable in them than a strapless dress.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea where to place them, so I just went where the cups naturally went up. I'll try it over a little bit.

  • ::sigh::  I am the lone strapless holdout.  Damnit!
  • I agree with Nebb on the straps.
  • I love it as a halter!  It is so cute!

  • I like it as a halter dress, although, I don't like strapless dresses in general.

The visual of you getting sloshed to the point of worrying that your bewbies will pop out is funny to me; I guess I just picture you more reserved  :)

I really don't know where people get that! I guess because I've said that I'm a Christian before? Well, Jesus did turn water into wine. He wants me to drink.
I usually don't put up drinking pictures anywhere. They're never flattering. This was my 21st though.

And as clarification, I don't have to be sloshed to be crazy. I enjoy drinking, but I really just get louder when I drink. I LOVE to dance and am often the DD because I will dance just as much sober as I will drink.

  • I like the halter. Will you tie it in the back or leave it as all one piece?
  • I'm leaving it all in one piece.

  • Where'd you get that dress?  I'm a little in love with it.  And my closet doesn't have enough polka dots.  Oh, and I like the halter :)
  • Target, baby! Only $21!

  • I like it as a halter. But I am rather busty so I prefer halters whenever I want to dance or drink. I find that when people take unexpected pics I am happier to know my dress hasn't slipped down.
