Weekend Plans

I'm procrastinating at work.

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Yesterday BF and I had the bright idea of opening our above ground pool. The pool is DISGUSTING! So tonight will be spent *hopefully* installing the new gasket. Tomorrow will be getting the pool water back up to where I can run the filter, then putting a shitton of chemicals in the pool to get rid of the algae.

Oh yeah and Saturday I have to pick up my contact lenses, go grocery shopping and buy a loud and obnoxious toy for my neighbor's son's birthday party Sunday.

Sunday, bf and I are going to Barnes and Noble to pick up some books for him to get re-certified in his field (network engineering) then to the birthday party, laundry, cleaning, obsessing over the pool.

I should've taken a picture. I will tonight to show you our lovely pool water. Anyone want to go swimming? LOL.

Re: Weekend Plans

  • Buddy- Your description of your pool reminds me of my Uncle's pool. He didn't maintain it at all over the winter so when we visited in March, it was looking pretty bad. I hope they got around to cleaning it.

Tonight I'm heading home to go do some quick shopping for some mini flower pots and then to Home Depot/ Lowes for flowers to put in them. Then FI and I are meeting up with another couple for dinner tonight.

Saturday is crazy busy, I have an appointment with a potential hair stylist for the wedding. I've had a lot of great referrals for their salon so I'm going to talk with her about hair and stuff. I'm not sure yet if I want to get my makeup done for the wedding. I was just thinking about doing it myself. I'm afraid if I let someone else do it then I won't look like my natural self...What did you married ladies do for your weddings? Then after the appt. I'm going to a friend's grad party and then we are going to FI's friend's wedding...then I will crash.

Sunday is church and a belated Mother's Day celebration for my mom who has been at the beach all week with Dad. We are cooking her my FI's famous Jambalaya! It is sooo yummy!
  • I'm paying someone to do my makeup because I don't know how to apply makeup well. I don't wear it on a day-to-day basis, so this is not a skill I possess.

Tomorrow, we're going to Tyler's hometown to celebrate a late mothers' day with Tyler's mom then picking up one of his friends to bring her to our house to meet the dogs and show her around because she's going to be staying with Bellamy, Zoe and Freya while we're on vacation from 5/31 to 6/8.

On Sunday, we MIGHT go to my parents' house to catch up on Game of Thrones because they've been TiVOing it for us. I don't have a day off next week because two nurses are on vacation, so I might nix that to have some time at home since we'll be busy all day on Saturday, idk. We'll see.

  • Tonight I'm going to a dear friend's college graduation party. I haven't seen her in several years, so that should be fun.

Tomorrow I have a haircut and BF has gaming in the evening. I'm hoping we don't spend the day dodging the severe weather, and I'm hoping it doesn't rain too terribly hard.

Sunday BF is leaving on a last-minute business trip -- as in, we found out yesterday he'd be travelling. Weather depending, I will be productive around the apartment ...

I didn't wear any make up except lip gloss, and I did my own hair.  I never wear make up, ever.  I think it looked fine!  it went up in about 6 minutes.  I was so un-stressed and chilled out that day it was unbelievable.

tonight I got tickets to surprise my H and we're going to see Jerry Seinfeld LIVE.  H is pumped out of his mind.

tomorrow I'm going with my mom and grandma for a late Mother's Day outing.  we're going to tour some designer show homes and then have lunch.

I am done with this semester, so it's the first weekend I don't have to study!!

after church on Sunday, we're having a cookout so that will be fun.  I do have cleaning and grocery shopping to do, but the rest of the weekend will be a blast.

oh, and here's a picture from the wedding:  I hope no one thinks that I looked bad without any make up!  also, please notice how sexy my H is.  <3

    ETA:

TK won't post my photo.  I guess there is too much sexy going on.  :(
  • Morning, ladies.  Weekend plans for me consist of not working (I hope), finishing thank you notes and seeing the new Star Trek movie...anyone else going to see it?

@CoccoBellaF - Seinfield sounds like fun!  I hope you enjoy it.

  • Morning!

Tonight I'm cleaning up the kitchen, then heading over to BF's for a quiet night in.

Tomorrow BF has a doctor's appointment to figure out his shin splints, then we're getting him some new glasses, and then we'll be at his parents' house.

Sunday me, BF and my mom are headed up to Baltimore for the Making Tracks for Celiacs 5K and Food Vendor Fair.  My goal is to finish the 5K in under 30 min, and then eat all of the things.  I'm feeling a little guilty for not fundraising, but I paid extra because we registered the last day you're guaranteed a shirt.  I'll probably also go for another run later that day.  We'll see.  I need to make my last hard push this next week and a half.

@cocobellaF I am super jealous you're going to see Seinfeld! I love his stand up (never seen him in person, unfortunately)

Tonight DH and I are just staying in. I think I'll be doing some laundry. Catching up on some TV that we've neglected because of playoff hockey. Maybe some sexy time?

Tomorrow morning I'm doing my yoga x video and then we're meeting friends for lunch. After that the group of us are going to see the new Star Trek movie in 3D IMAX - I'm excited! I need to stop by the lab after that though. boo.

Sunday is cleaning and more time in the lab. . . oh joy.

@buddysmom80, I read that and thought to myself, killer algae!  Hahaha.

I'm meeting up with my carpool buddy tonight so that we can head up a north a bit and spend the night closer to Saturday's outrigger canoe race location.

Saturday up bright and early at 5 am to make it to the site unload and rig the canoes, set up base camp, gather my nerves, charge at the swell and hopefully place first again in my race with my crew.  You ladies maybe seeing this face again, as it is my battle face.....

Seriously I have no control over what my face does when I'm concentrating on not missing a stroke.  Hopefully partying it up Saturday night with my team, stay the night in Santa Barbara (race site) and come home on Sunday.

Sunday come home kiss my husband, tell him about my race, then snuggle my puppies and tidy up the house and get ready for the work week.
  • @motoLyn - Just noticed your ticker for your trip.  Where are you going in Denmark?  My family is from there.  I assume you've been there before with your H (he's Danish, right)?

@peekaboo2011 - So cool that they have a run for Celiacs!  If I was nearby, I would totally join you (for the eating part that is, not the running part). :)

  • @motoLyn, that is amazing! I used to always get pictures of me making the weirdest faces on the planet when I would be at my competitions. The photographers would photograph me in mid air and I can't even describe the kind of looks I would have on my face. They were intense lol.

@miniskat- that ticker is suppose to be deleted, in my actual signature box the code isn't there.  It must have been placed back when TK switched platforms.  Danish Man and I pushed our trip back to Christmas of this year.  We're spending X-mas and New Year's in Denmark, specifically Aalborg.  Hubs moved from Denmark when he was 15 years old.  He tells me about how Danish are the happiest people especially at Christmas.  I'm excited to go!
  • You all have such busy weekends! Mine will be pretty low-key.

After work, I'm debating whether or not to go to a Zumba class. Then I'll stop by the post office, come home and play with the new kitten my roommate just adopted. BF will come over late tonight when he gets off work.

Tomorrow we'll just hang out around the apartment until 2:00 then he's off to Atlanta for his best friend's bachelor party. As for me, I'm planning on going grocery shopping then just coming back and catching up on shows on my DVR.

Sunday will be spent cleaning the apartment. Then BF will probably come over when he gets back from Atlanta.

That's pretty much it. What an exciting weekend I have lol.

@motoLyn Peek explained this yesterday, so I am passing on her wisdom.  In order get the signature changes to show up, you have to click on the head/bust icon in the upper right hand corner (Account options), then click on preferences, next, on the left of the screen, click signature settings.  Updates saved there will show up immediately.

Not sure what we have going for the weekend yet.  We will most likely go see the new Star Trek movie, hit up the library's book sale, and kiddo's school's "Used Gear Sale" for the Green Team (the environmentally focused branch of the PTO).  Other than that, kiddo has a birthday party to go to, and I have a lot of chauffeuring to do.

  • @buddysmom80 I'm sure I've seen worse.  My parents had an above ground pool in our yard growing up, and at some point in my late teens my Dad (who thinks he's MacGyver) decided that an effective way to keep the pool clean over the winter would be to put 4 goldfish in there to eat the algae.  Needless to say, those 4 goldfish reproduced quite a lot, and by the time winter was over the pool was filled with at least 100 enormous goldfish.  He ended up just taking the pool down because nobody really used it at that point anyway.

I'm not sure what I'm doing tonight or most of tomorrow, but we have dinner with BF's parents tomorrow night and then Sunday there's apparently this big race in the city where people wear stupid costumes and drink all day, so I guess we're going to that!

  • Oh ok, thanks! Btw I apologize in advance. I'm attaching 6 photos and two of them are a little blurry. Also, this kitten is very young. My roommate found her in a dumpster with the mother nowhere in sight. And she hasn't been weaned yet obviously, which is why we are feeding her with a bottle. We're not sure how old she is but she's definitely very young.

  • Oh for precious! Is she your roommate's first rescue?
  • @mhollister89, I'm doing my own makeup.  I've been advised I should avoid products with SPF greater than 30.  I'm also testing out a Smashbox primer one of these days (it came in the mail and I'm pretty excited about it!)  I'm going pretty natural though, and had my mom do my makeup for my sister's wedding so I think I'll be okay.  I'm going to do my own hair too.  I should google some styles, but since the wedding isn't until APRIL, I think I'll change my mind a few times before then :)

@peekaboo2011, good luck on your 5K!  I know you'll do great!  Our 5K is NEXT Saturday!  But I'm feeling a bit more confident because I actually got some running in this week (I was out of commission for almost TWO WEEKS due to a stomach virus that left me with weird stomach issues - I still have weird stomach issues, but they're surviving the distance of a 5K so I'm okay with them.)  And duh, eat all the food!

Finally, my weekend!  This is the only weekend in a few that we'll be home just chilling, so we're meeting with an officiant possibility this evening and making deer/pork meatloaf for dinner.  I'm hoping my stomach will be okay with it, but it was okay with deer/pork burgers yesterday so that's good.

Tomorrow, we're going for a 3 mile run in preparation for the 5K next week.  And probably mowing the grass.  Unless we do that today.

Sunday, I have to work for a few hours, but that's about it.

I'm looking forward to the slow weekend, as school starts back up on Monday :)
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @motoLyn - I'm jealous.  I haven't been back to Denmark in years (my family is more from the Silkeborg area and Svenborg).  The Danes are pretty happy people in general but around Christmas they are definately the happiest.  :)

:)@miniskat30 Danish Man has cousins in Silkeborg.  My table names at the wedding revolved around a country or state that Hubs and I visited or had ties to.  For the Denmark table I had to pick random city names from the map of Denmark.  Example below of CA.image
  • She is. My roommate planned on adopting her but yesterday, she changed her mind because she can't afford to pay the pet fee. So she found a friend to take her in but we get to play with her until Tuesday!

  • @motoLyn - That is a really cute table idea.  :)  Say hi to Denmark for me when you go later this year!  It really is a beautiful, fun and friendly place...you will have a blast I'm sure.
  • BF's graduation ceremony is on Saturday and his family is hosting a BBQ afterward to celebrate. Then they are leaving early Sunday morning to go visit family in New Jersey and I'm dog sitting for them so I'm just going to hang out with the dog, hopefully get a good run in and relax on Sunday.

@Blue & White, I can't do my own hair worth a turd! I wish I could though more than anything but my hair is straight and it won't work with me. Let me know how that primer works for you, I just ran out of mine so I need a new one. I think I might go with doing my own makeup...I've been doing it by myself for years now and I'm satisfied so I think I will do that.
  • Tonight BF & I are going to hang out with some friends at their house, do a little grilling, and let our dogs play together in the backyard. Just what Violet needs - another boyfriend!! She's such a hussy. Tomorrow I have to work at night. Sunday we're going to another friends house for more grilling, and some bocce and drinks. Should be fun!

Yay! Has he finally seen the light?

I'm going to squeeze as many open house viewings in as I can between 1 and 2pm tomorrow, and then I have to head up to San Francisco for a bridal shower. Crap, I didn't get a card yet.

Sunday has no plans yet, and Monday during work I get to see Star Trek for free.
