AW your Dogs!

Dogs came up in the "gripes" thread below, and I'd love to meet everyone's furbabies!

We have three - Oscar, a 5 year old Yorkie, Charlie, a 5-8 year old pug (he was adopted and the vet isn't sure of his age), and Riley, a 8 year old no one knows what (also adopted). We had Riley genetically tested, and his DNA sample had to be tested twice because the scientists could not figure out what the hell he is. All they could tell us for sure is that he has some poodle on his mother's side.

Re: AW your Dogs!

  • Very cute!

Here's Binx and Diablo. They have a rough life.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • They are both beautiful! I have a soft spot for black kitties. :)
  • Here is Ulrich my Shorkie (Shi Tzu Yorkie mix) He is 3 and I rescued him off death row last year. Yes he is spoiled rotten now.
What a sweet face he has!  How did that poor little guy end up on death row? :(
  • No need to ask us twice! :)

  • The pound had an intake freeze and he was just there too long. The sad part is that there is only one truly no kill shelter in the area. The others all give dogs they deem un adoptable to the pound which makes them look good they don't kill the dogs but the pound does.
Yikes - that seems like a dishonest exercise in abusing semantics. We only have one no kill shelter here as well, but there are a lot of awesome local grassroots groups that go in to the kill shelters and rescue the dogs that are scheduled for euthanasia (barring them being truly too sick or too aggressive for adoption), then foster them until they find them a forever home. Ulrich is definitely a lucky pup!
  • This is my dog, MacDuff. The first picture is what he really looks like. The second picture is how he is whenever we walk into a room, look in his general direction, or sometimes even from the other side of the room while we're watching tv (he has a mild obsession with belly rubs)

  • Do Riley's eyes always look like that? O.o

Here's my dogs. Beagles all around!
Princess is the first, Knight is the second.
The third is a dog that we had who passed away a few years ago. Biaggio!
  • @zoberg - what a sweet face! I don't know about you, but I'd have a hard time saying "no" to any begging.

@krizzo17 - your pics aren't showing up for me. :(

I love beagles - we had a Beagle/Jack Russell mix that passed away last year and I miss her so much. :(  Yes - Riley always looks a little crazy! He was especially amped up here because we had just left the vet. On that particular vet trip we found out he is blind in that blue eye - apparently has been from birth, the vet thought.
  • @krizzo - so pretty! Is he part American Eskimo?
  • @ojitosverdes - yes, we think so. He's from a shelter, so we don't really know what he is, but he's about the same size and proportions of an eskimo, but with a slightly less pointy face (and the random brown spots) He'd be good friends with your dog - they could lay on their backs all day waiting for belly rubs! (Seriously, it's constant at our house).

  • @PricessBride2016 - such a snuggle bug. I love it when they sleep like that. :)
  • Riley looks less crazy with his mouth closed. =) He looked like a tiny chihuahua thing in the first picture, but that one of him upside down is saying eskimo / australian cattle dog to me. Adorable.
  • My beagles live with my parents just up the road from me. My uncle lives just past them. Overall we have 4 living beagles among us (we've had other dogs in the past). I can frequently hear them when the cows get to close to the yards.
  • Here are my two fur babies. My cat Buddy and my Cavalier, Quigley.

  • @buddysmom80 - what angel faces! @Jenni8412 - such great pics - the bottom one belongs on "upside down dogs". :)
  • I AW mine with every post I make.

He/she? (genitalia is a little ambiguous in the pic) is awesome - FI wants a bulldog so badly. We just keep ... getting ... dogs and we've set our limit at 3 right now.

He (missing a few part though).     CHef is awesome.  They are the best dogs. But they are needy.  Chef D requires a lot of attention.  They can be very stubborn also.  Overall they are great family dogs

Chef is an equal opportunity touch receiver.  He doesn't care your size, shape, color, gender he will take a pet from anyone who will give one.  Then he gets the most pathetic look is someone walks by and doesn't acknowledges him.

  • We have a basset hound named Havalina who is almost 2 years old (we think any way).  She is a screwball.  The first picture is her pretty pose, and the second is her "I'm going to lay on the grass in the middle of our walk and refuse to get up" pose.

We adopted her from a Basset Hound rescue last year.  We also had a basset hound prior to her from the same rescue, but she sadly got very ill and did not make it past 5 years.

@moonlightsilver I LOVE beagles.  I had one growing up, and my mom has another one now.  I guess I just love hounds in general.

I am definitely a hound first, pit bulls second, all other dogs third kinda girl.
  • Mine are in my siggy pic.  Lucky is the bigger dog, she's 11.  Paco is my little guy who we adopted from a rescue last year, they guesstimated that he's about 4.  Poor little fellow had heartworms when they rescued him and was still recovering from the treatment when he came to live with us.

What a sweetie!  I lover her name, too - I live in the Sonoran desert and we actually get Javalina that wander through the back yard occasionally!
