Does anyone know if it's really considered "acceptable" etiquette-wise in the UK to have a cash bar at a wedding? Is that a thing? I'm having difficulty understanding how that's a cultural difference.

I was removed for moderation, but was unbanned. I have said absolutely nothing that violates their TOS, so I imagine that is why. I haven't acted any differently than I do here.

I think they are doing this for all recent accounts.

But how?! I admit, I'm rather jealous. I hadn't had my fill of ruining people's day. Like that one girl, Lia maybe? We ruined her morning. She had to go drink coffee and leave the bee for the day. Except she didn't.

If/when we decide to come back here, I have an idea:

In "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix," Dolores Umbridge passes Educational Decree No. 23, which prohibits any teachers from discussing anything with their students notdirectly related to the teacher's area of expertise. Hermione, of course, sees the flaw in this plan -- that no teacher can tell a student off for misbehaving, as it has to nothing to do with the lesson.

Then the Weasley twins set off their fireworks explosion and flee the castle. And Umbridge spends her first day as headmistress being summoned all over Hogwarts to deal with the mess, because the professors "aren't sure if they have the authority" to undo the Weasleys' magic.

Since we no longer have mods (i.e., teachers), I advocate asking KGs about EVERY.LITTLE.THING. either they'll get sick of it and give us back mods, or they'll realized how effed up what they're doing is.

Harry Potter is in high school though. I think this is unnecessary... they see our comments as is. I'm sure they saw what wasn't resolved this weekend for posts.. they also told us this isn't set in stone.

So I signed up again and gave a polite answer to a question about a bridal shower. I actually agreed with the persons idea. I was banned again immediately. Guess I will be twiddling my thumbs tomorrow while at work or use my H's email address to make another profile and then just lurk and watch the influx happen.

WHAT! Dumb. I agreed with the OP too - it was the lovely other poster I took issue with. The one who thought she deserved a shower before her 20-person wedding. That was a good thread.

This may backfire on poor Weddingbee's ass. They may be banning newbs who have no idea what is happening and losing new bees just b/c they've decided to ban any new sign-ups. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

To clarify, it was Lee Jordan who told Umbridge that she couldn't tell Fred and George off for playing Exploding Snap because it had nothing to do with the Dark Arts. So Lee got detention. Hermione was the one who realized that banning The Quibbler would make sure that everyone read it. /Harry Potter Obsessive Post

I think anyone who posted in those two threads over on Dec 2010 got banned because they knew something was up.
