I am the matron of honor for my best friend's upcoming wedding in August. The other bridesmaids and I are hosting a "friends/co-workers" shower. The bride had another family shower this past weekend. Our shower is scheduled for June 15th. The problem is almost everyone has RSVP'd no. The bride is very upset about this and I feel terrible. There will be more people in the wedding party at the shower than guests! Only 6 of the 24 guest we invited RSVP'd yes. I know this is a busy time of year and unfortunately a lot of the guests had other legitimate conflicts like other showers to attend, wedding on the same date, etc. Should I offer to reschedule the shower at this point or should I just go with it? Can you even reschedule a bridal shower? I've never heard of such a thing being done. The shower was supposed to be an outdoor event at my house. We rented a lovely tent and were having it catered. I am not even sure that is necessary now with a small number of people. I think a luncheon or something would be more intimate with the small number of guests that we have. Would it be acceptable to change the venue to make it more intimate or is that also a no-no? I guess I am just a loss and feel very bad and don't know what to do! Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have.
