I had family register for a bag of M&M's and a year later they are were still eating them.  Everyone thought it was cute and funny and got them.

That is pretty funny and yes I think it a bit cute.
  • A girl i know registered for a $100 garbage can with an automatic lid that opens when you put your hand over it. It was a bit ridiculous! I stopped reading her 27 page registry after I saw that!

Wow both of those are pretty strange. ( moemacWed30594 and jennac77)
  • My fiancé thought it would be funny to register for a few baby items to get people talking (we aren't pregnant and we don't have any kids) or a pregnancy test.

@MeganLAnderson  Depending on how your family is, I could see that be a bit funny. I wouldn't dare do that for ours because I wouldn't want to deal with all of the phone calls from family members. Lol
  • I saw a hairdryer on one, which I think is an odd one.  I registered for a bundt cake preserver and my fiance made me take it off.  My dreams of making daily bundt cakes are dashed.

What is a bundt cake preserver?  I just googled it and couldn't find anything.

    Sounds cute though!

A few board games, a couple sword racks, a big flat screen TV, a digital camera.  This was all on one registry, and I don't remember what other odd stuff was on it.  They had normal stuff too.  I don't think they got a lot off it though :p

ETA: A mustache trimmer, and a generator.  I think generator wins the prize from their list.

  • lol, I must have an odd registry!

I thought some of these things were pretty normal, like a hatchet, garden tools, wet/dry shop vac, and the touchless garbage cans (2-piece set for $70 @ Amazon!).

I know we have some various geeky things though:

Two board/card games (one is a D&D game, the other a Munchkin game), two sets of posters (firefly and Minecraft sets), two geeky cookbooks (Cooking for Geeks and A Song of Ice and Fire cookbook), a Firefly book, Portal cookie jar, Portal cookie cutters, and Game of Thrones wine charms.

    Admittedly random:

Giraffe toilet brush, yellow angelfish colander, and ninja salt & pepper shakers.

  • Very early on when I thought I wanted to do an Amazon registry, FI tried to add basically every action figure sold on Amazon. I swiftly changed our registry to Pottery Barn ;)

Ha. I'd have to resist the temptation to put blind bag My Little Pony figures on mine.

  • A friend added beer and bacon to her registry. The groom's sister bought and brought to the wedding with a bow. :) FI registered for a $500 scooba (room a mop for hardwood floors). I wanted to delete it, but we have bets to see if someone will actually buy it. I did tell mom that it's a joke/long shot just so she can pass the message that we seriously aren't expecting it if someone mentions it.

I am glad my FI did not see this post. He would want to add bacon on to ours lol

My husband registered for beef jerky... And no one got any for us... It was a sad day, lol.

  • We registered for a chip clip that looks like a cow and moos when you squeeze it. We already got it at a shower and one of my friends texted me and said she was pissed someone already bought it because she wanted to (we told her we can always use more).

For the record, its awesome chip clip.

My FI would have put something like that on there if I let him but I told him it was either junk food or tools. He went with tools. Lol

I don't think I have ever seen a clip like that but it does sound interesting.

It's from BB&B. There are also pigs and birds. The description on the website says something about making sounds to deter "sneaky snackers" - I just think it's funny.

I am registered and BB&B. I am going to look for those. Lol
  • My fiance and I were this close to registering for a plunger at Macy's. When we realized what we were about to do we laughed so hard. I could see my bridal shower now: a cellophane wrapped black plunger with a white bow. Every girl's fantasy.

Too funny.  But when one needs a plunger, it is wonderful to have on hand!

Early in our co--habituating, I was stuck at home with one bathroom and a clog.  I couldn't get it to budge and FI (then just boyfriend) suggested grabbing a different plunger.  I went to this small store nearby and all I got as the plunger.  The cashier started to say something along the lines of "how's your morning going," but then glanced at the plunger and said "Oh, nevermind!"

Added story part -- I still couldn't fix it.  FI was actually going out of town for two nights but stopped in to help (didn't call first, came while I was on the phone trying to get a plumber).  He was in and out.  The funny part -- He's National Guard and was in uniform....so I got my very own military rescue :)

I think you should maybe fight your fiance on this one. I mean, pick your battles and all, but if it is the same thing I registered for, this is just a cake plate shaped for bundts with a cover and no stand. It's pretty and under $25. Since I have cats, the current solution for when we have baked goods that we don't finish in a day is to stick them in the microwave. The bundt keeper may only get pulled out for holidays or parties, but it will get used.
  • We have pet ferrets so... we registered for a ferret ball pit. Like at McDonald's, but ferret sized.

  • My best friend registered for a camping tent. Not the weirdest thing on their registry but it's the one I remember the most. My mom bought it for them (she grew up being outdoors and thought it was an awesome idea) and I think in the two and a half years they've been married they have used it one time - to camp out in their living room.
  • I'm sure it's going to trigger a few jokes about marital scrapping matches, but I registered for a punching bag and gloves. FI was a martial arts instructor and could use a new set. I plan to purchase them regardless, so might as well give a few people a laugh and take advantage of completion offers.

A friend of mine is registered for a saw. And I fully intend to buy it for her, just because its weird

Makes total sense to me! A huge part of running a household is all those darned tools!
  • We received a splitting maul tied up with a bow at our wedding.  Just chillin' on the gift table.  It was a gift from one of the groomsmen and two our male friends.  My parents received a chainsaw at their wedding.
  • Strangest was a tube top on target registry. I've seen a lot of toilet brushes too.
  • My friend received a fire extinguisher from her father.  She took it as a comment on her cooking abilities.
  • Ok now I feel like I need that cookbook, a feast of ice and fire? YES PLEASE
