I thought I should give you all an update.

Wedding was on Saturday. It was great and we really enjoyed it. And it was a great party to have before we leave.

Right well the cousin, his wife and indigo daughter actually turned up. Daughter was wearing a disney princess dress a Cinderella ball one, with a fluffy tiara and everything.

At the reception her parents tried to get her into the wedding party and BM photos (that didn't work) Cousins tried to rip into me about not inviting the daughter to have her hair done with me and my BM and that daughter didn't have flowers and she should have

Cousins parents (H's aunt and uncle) kept apologising to us and I'm pretty sure I saw them tell the cousins to stop more than once. Cousins wanted to tell anyone who would listen that we were awful hosts not allowing daughter to bring her bf. At then end everyone just ignored them.

The daughter wouldn't talk to any of the other kids and when any asked her if she wanted to join in she would tell them that playing games was childish. She went around telling all the adults she knows( H family) that my dress was horrible, the cake was plain, it wasnt a good wedding.

Me and My sis had to go in the corner and just burst out laughing.

Well it was interesting. By the end everyone was just ignoring the three of them.

Don't think we will ever be inviting them to anything again

Congratulations on your marriage! That update is...interesting. I almost feel bad for the child that she is being raised to think this is ok - her behavior is not going to get her many friends in life.

I'm glad the day turned out so well even with the rude cousins and their daughter...

I feel sorry for the little girl even though she's rude and insufferable - that's mostly her parents' fault, and I can't imagine how she's ever going to have friends as she gets older... well, besides the boyfriend, I guess....

Wow, those parents make me sick. It sounds like even the guests were like "waaaa?" I'm so glad you were able to laugh it off!

Funny story-I was at a comedy show this weekend where the indigo children concept came up. Comic #1 (Jen Kirkman) mentioned it and then Comic #2 (John Hodgman) polled the audience to determine whether it was a real thing. They even found the father of an "indigo" who blamed the diagnosis on his wife.

Glad to see I only meet two reqs for "indigo"- I was born in 86 and was considered an "old soul" by my grade school teachers because I actually behaved in class. Go figure, you're an old soul if your parents actually practiced discipline and taught you appropriate manners!

@laradoll, congratulations! I'm glad you had a wonderful wedding! Personal opinion though- little girl does not sound like an "indigo," she sounds like a mean, spiteful brat (though I guess be happy she didn't get a miniature bride dress?). At least her parents did a thorough of enough job embarassing themselves so there is no way anyone (except them of course) can claim you were not a gracious host and bride to them!

I'd love to hear an update where in 2 months, the "boyfriend" dumps her for a nicer little girl.

It would have been kind of funny to include her in one wedding photo - just so when you look back you can laugh. I would also like to see photos of your terrible dress and your plain cake (indigo children like confetti cake with their name in very large writing... How could you be so insensitive?). It would be icing on your very plain cake if I saw a little blue Cinderella costume and fluffy tiara pouting in the background...

I am sad though for that little girl. How aweful for her that she's being equipped with absolutely no social skills whatsoever. She's never going to hold a job, have stable relationships, or be happy with anything in life. How very bleak.

You're married - congrats!! I hope other brides who are in crisis mode will see this and realize that on your wedding day, that's the only thing that matters. I feel sorry for the indigo child as well. She is going to grow up with a hell of a sense of entitlement.

I feel like we should share this thread every time a poster is worried about a guest "upstaging" them. This family did everything possible to steal the spotlight, and all that happened is the other guests rolled their eyes and hardcore judged them. And the b+g handled it with grace and were the center of attention.

I can't believe there are people that actually act like this, but you are right that it's actually very amusing. I wonder if they know they were basically the laughing stock of all your guests. And I definitely agree with PPs that I feel bad for the 8yo, she's in for a lifetime of social awkwardness and ridicule.
