I need reception venue suggestions! :)

Hi Ladies,

I'm looking for some reception venue help. Originally, me and the fiance wanted to get married on the cape. He has lots of family in Falmouth and we were thinking we would like to stay around that area for the wedding. We REALLY want to have the reception somewhere right on the water, but prices at venues on the cape are really expensive. I know that nothing comes cheap that has the word "wedding" attached to it, especially on the cape, so we are prepared to spend a good chunk of change for the wedding. But we were thinking trying to look somewhere else maybe close to the cape, still on the water, but not on the cape... like Plymouth area or somewhere along those lines.

Anyone know of any budget-friendly nice reception venues on the water that's not on the cape? We are really open for ANY suggestions. I already posted this on the cape cod boards as well, but i'm hoping to get more responses in areas other than the cape.

Thanks for your help :)

You can try Atlantica at Cohasset Harbor, its beautiful but not sure how budget friendly.

    Good luck!

Our reception was at the Barker Tavern in Scituate. It's not directly on the water, but it's in the harbor area, and a fantastic place for a reception. Food is top notch, as well as the service.

Indian Pond CC is in Plymouth. There are a couple of girls on the boards that are getting married there soon.

I'm getting married in Plymouth, though not right on the water (Pinehills).  I did visit a few places on the ocean though when I was looking - you could try White Cliffs (Plymouth, kind of mid-range price wise), the Plymouth Yacht Club (kind of casual but right on the water and pretty budget friendly) or the The Beachmoor Inn (Wareham, I think their prices were also pretty good).

Are you interested in the North shore as well or just south? Plymouth and Quincy might be more economical since they are not the cape or the big city. Our photographer posted a wedding at a venue in Duxbury a few months ago I remember from their blog but I don't know the name of it. It looked to be right on the harbor/bay.

I am getting married at the Venezia - it is on the water and has a fantastic view of Boston.  I think their prices are pretty reasonable (although they just went up) but that's all relative to what you want to spend and how many guests you are having.

Did you check out the Popponessett Inn? It's right on the beach...I'm not sure of the prices though. Good luck!

Im getting married at the OCean View Inn and Resort In Gloucester. Its right on the water and is beautiful!! The price I paid for the reception hall was 2500$ for 9 hours. They only rent 9 hours because they only do one wedding a day!

Hi jacquikev - I've been eyeing the Ocean View Inn for a while, since I love that it's right on the water. How was the pricing on food?
