Re: Davids Country inn

  • I have been to a wedding there a couple of years ago but don't really remember the details. When you are a guest, there is so much you don't notice. When you are a bride to be, you notice everything!

  • My best friend booked her wedding there for May 2014 and is in love with it!

  • It's a beautiful place and the food is very good.  The do a great job.  The only negative is that parking is limited and the don't have beautiful outdoor spaces photos.  But the inside is beautiful.
  • We are getting marriied in feb 2015 and lets hope most will be staying at the hotel and use a shuttle. Thank you for the review I am excited.

I think that's where I will end up booking. I know there are taxis now in Hackettstown, I grew up around there and was surprised to find that out recently. I'm not planning on providing a bus after our reception to the hotel so to hear that rural warren county had taxis now was a great plus. @rainbow0215 Did you do a tasting? I want to make an apt for September. Did they let you book 2013 or 2014 prices? I emailed requesting info no response will have to call there soon. =)
  • I booked for 2015 and our hotel is going to shuttle back and forth to Davids. They will call you and the best prices for hotels holiday inn in Mount Arlington. They also give your guests breakfast. No tasting yet.
  • Hi ladies...I went to look at David's and fell in LOVE, we then went and saw some other venues and when we did it seemed as though a lot of other places have over the top cocktail hours and it made me concerned with David's cocktail hr.  Was anyone else concerned with this, if so what was your final thought process on this?

What do you mean by over the top?
  • We are taking the top package and i am notconcered about cocktail hur. I went to a weddig  years ago that was over the top onaps too much.

  • I booked in 2013  for 2115 at this years prices. no tasting yet.
  • I meant 2015 is our wedding

Oh wow 2013 prices! I am calling them them them to set up an apt. Rainbow are you getting married on 2/15? That's my birthday.
  • Our wedding date is 02/15/2015
  • I just mean that I felt like other places included so much food in the cocktail hr.I don't want it to seem as though there isn't enough food/choices.  In the end though the most important is where we want to have it!! They were awesome GB= we spoke with Christopher, he was so nice!
  • I meant not to hurt you but to me sometimes there is way to much food at cocktail hour, I want enough but not an overload of food. They also promised not to run out that has just happened at a recent wedding. I love the venue  it is differnt
  • I am very interested in David's Country inn.  We would  need to do a ceremony there as well.  Does anyone know if the grounds are suitable for a ceremony and taking pictures outside?

  • I think maybe just the porch for outside pictures you can go to a different location that is outside to get married or get married in the building, there are fees for both. The outside location is more expansive
  • This is where my reception is - August 2, 2014. I went there and fell in LOVE with it. The price per person can't be beat for what is included as well as the uniqueness of the place. It definitely isn't your standard wedding reception venue!

@Rainbows0215 I forgot to ask about the cake stand!! But oh my gosh!! It's so beautiful at Davids!!  My mom said she's been to two weddings there and they were gorgeous. She said the food was good. I think there are great photo ops in in Hackettstown. Centenary college is around the corner and has beautiful buildings. Also, I know sounds morbid but further down Mountain Ave. there's a cemetery and it has a pretty gate and trees up on the hill.

I am almost positive we will book there...just have to check out the rest of the places we want to see.
  • I loved it too
  • They supply the cake stand

  • I went there to visit last Sunday and fell in love with the venue, I absolutely love how open they are for personal touches and you can't beat the price per person. I told them how I went a huge cocktail hour and a huge dessert selection and they had no issue and blew my mind with all their options. Also they will allow you to do your own candy bar for no extra charge. Also this was my first venue I've went to so far and I'm afraid of how much I love this place.

Ps we booked there. I canceled our other apts bc nothing can out do it. =) hope you book there too. It takes your breath away w/ the beauty!!! I have seen some nice places, but I feel nothing compares. It's like davids is your own personal mansion for a day. There are so many great things you can never notice them all the first trip. FI's mom was almost crying bc she was so overwhelmed (in a happy way) at the place. No other place can top it if you ask me, especially bc they include custom designed flower centerpieces, favors, and cake, from Palermo's too, not some rinky dink bakery. You can also do your bridal parties flowers through Lisa I believe is the florists name. I just love it!!
  • I am looking at DCI for my venue. I LOVE the uniqueness of the place! However my FI is also concerned about the cocktail hour. I'm just curious, did they tell you that you can expand it? I'm trying to explain all the selling points to my FH. LoL
    Thx in advance
  • We are having our reception there in August 2014. I fell in love with it for its uniqueness and atmosphere when we went to see it the first time. My FI was a little more skeptical, but I eventually convinced him. :-)

I love how they are SO flexible and committed to making it your day. I also truly believe the value can't be beat.

Yeah I was worried about cocktail hour bc they were setting up one when I was there and it looked small compared to what I wanted I discussed I wanted a big cocktail and dessert and Carolyn assured me the deluxe package is a good amount but you can expand more (plus for the beginning price I don't see any hesitation to why I wouldn't expand it, it would bring the price to be relatively close to other places where you don't even get as much!) I'm still looking at other places but I find myself comparing every place to DCI.
