B2B I hate REI for fit! I can never find anything! And when I do find something it's so expensive! I'd go with LL Bean. I've always liked their stuff and it's guaranteed for life just like REI.
At REI, I tried on every single brand imaginable - REI, North Face, Columbia, Royal Robbins, Prana, Mountain Gear, a few others. I tried Women's sizing and I tried Kids' Sizing. Nothing even remotely fits. To the point where even a belt wouldn't help. And I'm not tailoring hiking/safari pants. That's absurd.
B2B - is there specific clothing that you need to go to a specialty store for? Can you just go to a Target or Sports Authority or something for clothes you won't mind ruining in a safari? I forget the specifics of what you are looking for....
Ugh I am so pissed and annoyed right now! Just ruined my walking on sunshine mood. I just texted all of the girls saying I was so excited to see them today in vegas! One of my bridesmaids in AZ responded saying she's been sick with food poisoning or the stomach flu for the last 3 days and doesn't know if she will make it and has been throwing up every hour and is gonig to the doctor today. Umm If i was throwing up every hour for 3 days, I would have gone to the doctor way sooner. She also just went to Vegas 2 weeks ago that I didn't know about. She never once texted or gave me a heads up about this until now! She already didn't come to my shower or even rsvp to my shower and now she's probably going to miss my bachelorette party? Am I such a biatch to be mad about this???? I havent even seen her since I've been engaged!

They told us since the weather will be really changeable (like, 50 degrees in the morning/night and 80 during the day) we should have "convertible" pants - those ugly ones that have the zipper at the knee so you can make them into shorts/capris when it gets hot.
I may just be hot and wear regular khakis because none of the convertible pants remotely fit. I just don't want to spend a lot of money on these since the chances I'll wear them after the fact are pretty slim. I did see some regular-looking khakis at Gap and Old Navy, but I just think they'll be too hot in 80 degree weather.
My BM that cancelled on my bach party (the day before also) also missed my shower and never RSVPed for it, either. I know she's busy so I understand (although-we're all busy . . . ), but she also hasn't responded to any email I've sent over the past few months and she never said "happy shower!" or "happy bach weekend, sorry I can't be there" or even texted on the day of. It's kind of annoying, so I totally hear you. You're not a b*tch at all for being upset about it. She also hasn't RSVPed for the wedding and hasn't RSVPed for the RD so I emailed her about it (no response).

That's crazy and so disappointing. No tailoring is not worth it. I didn't know LL Bean didn't carry smaller sizes! How stupid of them! Like PP said, what about like Target or something? Not the highest quality but might be worth it.
lvissers - Flaky friends are flaky. I would be pissed, too.
My best friend from college never RSVPd to my shower, has not RSVPd to my b-party, and has not RSVPd to my wedding. Yet she has plenty of time to post updates on Facebook, so I know she's alive and well, yet she has not returned a single text, phone call, or FB message from me. WTF?
I'm trying my best to not let it piss me off, but it just really does. I seriously have tears in my eyes now. Pisses me off because I havent even seen her since i was enagged. She was my roommate when I lived in AZ and was with me the day I met FI, so thought having her as a bridesmaid was a smart decision. She went to Vegas 2 weeks ago and is always doing some bar crawl thing or party every weekend with friends, so kinda funny how now for my bachelorette party weekend this happens. So now what, now I get to see her for the first time since I've been engaged on my wedding weekend and have her just show up as my bridesmaid?

Seriously? Why so early? It's not a destination or anything is it? That's just odd
lvissers - uh, yah. hahahaha my friend wanted to get drinks on Weds but I was like NO WAY. NO MORE ALCOHOL. I still am not even remotely attracted to the idea of drinking.
hahahaha I had a penis straw! We also had some props but I didn't end up using them. I'm not really into being the center of attention so I didn't want any of the bach party paraphernalia.
I have a secret fascination with tutus for some reason. I think as soon as my soo- to-be 3yr old step-daughter loved them, I did too! So much fun! I dont have many opportunities to wear mine, so definitely taking advantage of vegas!
Yea I'm hoping they didn't get me all that bachelorette crap to wear, just penis straws. I want people to see my cute new dresses without banners and penises draped all over me.
lvissers - sorry to hear about your friend. My 3 best friends from college all cancelled on my bach, and one of them is a bridesmaid. It hurts. I went to 2 of their showers AND bachelorettes in Chicago, but apparently I am not special enough for them to come down for. None of them sent me shower gifts or cards or texts either.
Things like this just have to be looked at on the bright side - we know who REALLY cares about and will have a blast with the people who do.
One of my friends is only coming to the pole dancing class and then leaving my party so she can go to her third dave matthews band concert of the month. I am not joking. her third OF THE MONTH. at least she is coming to part of it, but really???

That's a lot of Dave Matthews for a late-20s(?) individual. I used to go to DMB concerts all the time . . . in high school and college. Aren't all the people drunken high school students? (Sorry - don't mean to offend anyone - it's an honest question.)
yea, she is 28. I don't get it. I love DMB music as much as anyone, but the concerts just aern't for me anymore, and I don't understand needing to go to every single one. My fiance has a friend who is...let's see, 30 now? and he tries to go to 5 every year. I really just don't understand. She really has been a good friend, so I had hoped she would choose me over Dave JUST ONCE! but nope.
butterfly - 3 Dave concerts? I'm sure they are all the same show and songs too! Some people are really ridiculous! I go out of my way for all of my friends special birthdays and events and treat them how I would want to be treated, so I guess I expect that in return.
Anyways, I'm sure after a couple dirty dirty martinis tongith, I won't even notice she's not there :-) I'm very thankful for the other 12 girls who are traveling the distance and going out of their way for me!

NOTHING!
Have you tried columbia or north face?
LL Bean starts at size 4, so too big.
