AW - food!

Alright ladies, time to show some food you enjoy - unhealthy or healthy. Healthy is probably better since we're all trying to eat better, but I wanted to AW the brownies I made today!
They really turned out, but then again they always turn out with this particular recipe!

I'm so glad my husband and our roommate are home today otherwise I'd probably eat all the brownies myself lol.

Recipe:
5 tbsp butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
pinch of salt
2 eggs beaten
2/3 cup flour
4 tbsp cocoa
2 tsp vanilla (I never measure though because I LOVE vanilla)
1/3 cup whipping cream

1. Cream butter, sugar and salt together.
2. Add eggs. Beat until smooth
3. Add remaining ingredients and mix together thoroughly.
4. Add to greased pan and put in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.

Icing:
2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 tbsp cocoa
3 tbsp liquid
1 tsp vanilla
Icing sugar

Mix together until it's a creamy texture. I don't know how much icing sugar I really put into this recipe, it's usually about 2-3 cups.

Voila! Done!

The only brownies I will ever be allowed to make. H is OBSESSED with these. They get a great crust, but never overcook and stay gooey on the inside foreeeever. I usually do a blend of flours to avoid wheat and brown rice flour (fructans) but maaan these are heavenly.

YESSSS.

So I am the ultimate fat kid today. Especially the kid part.

Here's dessert tonight, sans whipped cream...well, 1/3 of it. I finally got H on board with the idea that we do not need 2 pieces of cake, now to convince my mom, who, is super healthy/in-shape and something like a size 4, which will actually be the hardest to convince.

Mind you, the day started with me getting laughed at by customer service. I called the local stores to see if any of them carried Mega Stuf Oreos. They came out in February in Walmarts, but since I don't often go to Walmart, I missed the memo until now. Has anyone seen/tried these? And yes, Oreos are my favorite junk food in the whole world. I am counting down for Halloween Oreos, thank goodness I learned how to portion and exhibit some self control over them.

Now I should probably go take a photo of all the healthy food actually sitting in our house

Cantaloupe gazpacho, salsa chicken, green beans with peaches, corn/avocado/tomato salsa, and homemade rolls. Nom nom nom.

oh man.. no.. I didn't know they were coming out with an even more stuffed oreo.. that is not good for me. aaaaahhh Oreos are toootally my weakness as well! Although I haven't had them in like.. a year and some months. They are vegan, which both amazes and grosses me out. And makes it difficult to have any will power -__-

Someone brought the mega stuff oreos to one of my programs once. I actually resisted them, which still blows my mind. And while I've known oreos are vegan for a while, it still seriously weirds me out. And now all I want is dessert. Wahhhh.

On another delicious food related note, today is National Lasagne Day. Lasagne florentine for dinner tonight!

I have no food pictures because I soooo don't cook (and DH has been working nights, which pretty much means I'm screwed on the food front)....I have, however, been really enjoying the Special K chocolatey caramel pastry crisps when I need something sweet. Argh, now I just want more sweets.

Double stuff oreos are fantastic. Especially for me, because I will peel off and eat the cookie and double or triple stack the stuffing on my own when I eat oreos. I didn't know they were vegan though... weird.

Mmmm, cheesecake and lasagne. This thread is making me hungry!

@lobsters25 - that gazpacho looks delicious. Do you make a lot of gazpachos? I've never had one (that I can recall) but they seem so perfect for summer.

Lobsters25- Giant had the mega stuffed last week when we went, if you have a Giant near you.

I'm glad I'm eating dinner, and a boring one at that in front of this computer right now, because I want to attack the screen! If I weren't eating dinner, I'd be out the door picking something horrible up!

Ooooo Oreos are SO delicious and those brownies look ridiculously good!!! I pretty much love any kind of dessert!
