    If I think about the 11 people who are most important to me, I can't help but think about their SO's. These are people I've spent holidays with, have been to their children's birthday, who I go to when I need advice or a shoulder to cry on. My best friends SO's have become some of my greatest friends too. If you are only having the 11 people closest to you, then maybe you should think about why you aren't close enough to their SO's to also invite them. If you ever hoped that you and your FI would become close with them as a couple, this is doing nothing but putting a damper on that future relationship.
