I Just Bought...

I just bought the cutest lace arm-warmers, which I'm going to wear on my wedding day. They're cream with some pale blue bits, so that takes care of my "something blue". They were only R100 (roughly $10) and I got a discount for paying cash - such a bargain! I've put them away in a cupboard where the cats won't get to them. Now I just have to not wear them for a year!

What was your most recent purchase? (Wedding related or not, but not counting groceries and other "essentials")

Re: I Just Bought...

  • We're in the middle of doing our landscaping (finally!!)  Only 2 more weeks till the snow flies too.  We had to wait 2 years to get our rough grade approved so we could start (our builder does it, so we just had to wait).  We splurged and bought a hot tub last spring for the yard and it goes in Wednesday!!  I'm so excited to finally get it in.  It's just a little 4 person one, but that's big enough for DH and me!!  :)

I bought a white shipping box to mail a Jayne hat to a good friend of mine from college. I picked up a crafting hay bale a few weeks ago to cut apart for the straw, and I just have to put the pompom on the hat and ship it out.
  • Your arm warmers, which Ive never heard of except maybe Carrie wore them on "Sex and the City" sound pretty.  I recently bought two toy airplanes made from recycled milk jugs.  They are for my grandsons for Chirstmas although  I doubt if ill wait till then to give them to them.
  • We just shopped for a toddler bed for DD. We bought the bedding, but have to go back to get the bed. It's all Minnie Mouse themed and DD is as happy as a little clam.
  • Our most recent purchase was new living room furniture, which is soon to be followed by new dining room and bedroom furniture.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • DH and I spent yesterday buying stuff for our new place with gift cards from the wedding. We bought a vacuum cleaner (yay!), throw pillows, bedding, kitchen stuff, glasses, bar stuff, bed pillows, etc. Nothing super-exciting, but stuff we liked and needed and wanted!!

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • I bought elbow length gloves to go with my wedding dress and spare earring backs.
  • Oh, I also just bought a sunrise simulator alarm clock.  It starts about 30 min before I wake up and starts red, then orange and finally ends pretty bright.  It's not quite the sun, bit it's been helping me get up in the mornings now that it's so dark.  There are birds chirping too, quietly, so it's been nicer in the mornings.

@KeptInStitches : You are officially even more awesome than previously believed.  I made a Jayne hat for my husband one of our first Christmases together and he wears it when it gets cold out.

The last thing we purchased was lumber for the furniture hubby's making for us.  The very latest was for my mobile kitchen island with cabinet, which I am very excited about.
  • wow! looks like we've all made some good (and interesting!) purchases. yay shopping! :)

  • I went to TJ Maxx this weekend so lots of randomness was purchased: stainless steel hot/cold beverage dispenser, some dish towels for my mom, fall-scented Yankee Candle (one for me and one for my aunt who was shopping with me), Halloween themed book for FH's niece, etc etc. I really love that store.
  • My most recent self-indulgent purchase was a huge order from makeupgeek.com ... I am obsessed with makeup.

@WintonsGirl - That sounds like a lot of awesome!!!!

My latest purchase was a pair of Doc Marten Triumph boots. They make me feel mighty paired with a dress/skirt and tights plus a comfy sweater.

I've tried one on the past and it didn't work. Which on did you buy?

I just bought a food processor since I want to do some cooking this week.

I got the Phillips one that changes colour (Philips HF3520 Wake-Up Light With Colored Sunrise Simulation)
from Amazon.  I still use my regular alarm to officially wake up, but the 30 before of light make it much easier to get up.  It's more of a 20-30 min dozing period while the light gets brighter for me, letting me come out of a deeper sleep.  My alarm then tells me it's actually time to get out of bed

  • @KatWAG Congratulations!  I am jealous, lol.  We are still in the market.

but on a happier note I just bought a cute pair of boots for over 1/2 price off. Can not wait for them to arrive!

@KeptInStitches : I crocheted mine.  I find it's easier working in the round with crochet though I do knit as well.  I think the knit version looks better though.

    We bought a house yesterday!
    Congratulations! That is SO awesome!

We're still looking. There isn't a heck of a lot under our maximum loan amount though so we may have to move towns again, which I'm not thrilled about. My kitties are happy here and I don't want to uproot them! :(
