Happy Halloween!

2

Re: Happy Halloween!

  • I tried to locate a fun Halloween costume pic of myself for a FB profile pic of the day, but nothing seemed that cute. I thought I had a digital copy of my favorite costume, but it must only be on my home computer. I'll have to post it here once I get home.
  • If I lived in a decent neighborhood I'd absolutely walk kids around. If I lived where I am now (not a bad neighborhood, just a lot of homes that have been divided into condos and near a main road) I'd probably take them to my hometown in NH to go.

I wish they had trick or treating for dogs.

When we went to Savannah on @southernpeach89 's bachelorette they were having an event called Wag-O-Ween. Best idea ever! People were walking their pets around from store to store and they were getting little treat baggies and stuff. All of the pets (and some of the owners were dressed up and it was the cutest thing ever!

  • Thanks @CocoBellaF

@Imhollister, I know trunk or treats aren't that fun, but yeah bad neighborhood. And I get work hours for it. Yay!

I'm handing out nothing. I don't think kids trick or treat in my 'hood.

I am not in costume right now.

    I did not decorate.

I sound like the Halloween Grinch.
I'm on the Halloween Grinch train with @swazzle

I already showed my "costume" in the Red Sox thread. I'm a motherfuckin' World Champion today.

I'm going on a Ghost Tour with my BFF tonight, so I didn't bother getting any candy.

  • Candy is my favorite food.

  • Fact: I haven't bought any candy yet. What are you handing out? (if anything?)
I don't think we will get trick-or-treaters in our building. But if we do, my MIL sent us some candy (for us) that I could give out.

Are you in a costume right now?

I am wearing halloween socks and a skeleton t-shirt. So. . . not really, but festive.

    Did you decorate your home?
We have two pumpkin-like gourds and one of those creepy looking gourds. That is all. I can't wait until we have a house and I can decorate everything and hand out candy!
  • @kait - you look like Anne Hathaway in that pic to me!

I live in a condo and haven't gotten even one trick-or-treater in 6 years...so no candy. I used to dress up for work, but we have kind of stopped doing parties and costume contests, so I don't dress up any more.

My mom is flying in tonight, so H and I will be at the airport to pick her up. Not planning and fun halloween activities. I'm looking forward to owning a home (not a condo) someday because I actually really love Halloween...and it will be more fun to celebrate when I can decorate and pass out candy!

We are not handing out candy because Halloween fell on our weekly date night, so we're going out instead :)

Are you in a costume right now?
I am in costume!! My work allowed us to wear costumes, so I'm wearing my Harley Quinn dress with long sleeves and black skinny jeans. Had to make it work appropriate :)

    Did you decorate your home?

    yes!

  • @swazzle - I thought everyone used pillowcases for their trick-or-treat bags. . . someone tell me that wasn't just my family?
  • we used those plastic Halloween jack-o-lantern pumpkins.  the kids (H's cousins) always have a cute bag or something they got at Target.
  • We used pillow cases!
  • @cschiano - Me too! Anything else was just too small.

  • I had buckets from McDonalds. Does anyone else remember these?

  • @brisox81 I remember those, but once we moved to a bigger suburban neighborhood all bets were off and I was using a pillowcase.

  • I remember those too! The ghost one is badass.

  • We didn't really live in a neighborhood - we actually drove around on Halloween for trick or treating. Oh, Maine.

  • What are you handing out? (if anything?)

Nothing.  I live in a high rise building.  No one comes to my door.

Are you in a costume right now?

No.  I kind of wish I bought Annie a costume, but I knew she wouldn't be happy about it.  But does a black cat really need to dress up at Halloween?

    Did you decorate your home?

No. But my building decorated our lobby and hallways.
  • @brisox81 I think my parents still have some of those in the basement - oddly, they use them to store Christmas lights :)

I bought 150 piece bag of mini chocolate candies last sunday and damn proud that I only ate two pieces from that bag and not touched anymore.  Mini kit kats, twix, M&Ms, crunch, reeses peanut butter cups etc,

Are you in a costume right now?
I'm dressed up as a flatulent pregnant lady, wasn't a big stretch for me.  I wanted to dress up but I was too tired to make up a costume.  I usually dress up for halloween, about the person at work that does.  But will be dressing up the dogs tonight so the kids that come to the house feel more at ease with approaching to get candy.

    Did you decorate your home?
The only thing I have is the carved pumpkins, Hubs and I plan to go shop target tomorrow to pick up decorations on sale for next year.
  • We never get any kids cause most kids here trick or treat at business/malls/churches since its safer for them. We have a lot of transients so it's hard to really know your neighbors when they're constantly changing.

BUT we got snack size star bursts and snickers. We get to eat them if no kids come haha. We also carved a really cute pumpkin yesterday. It's a vampire apparently.

We are joking that we are dressed like an engineer and a student. Ya know our normal day outfits. Special. Our house has been decorated for Halloween/fall since about 9/15. We will change it out to winter sometime in November but the specific Halloween will go away tomorrow.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • I'm driving down to BF's today but we won't be handing out candy, we'll just put a bowl out on the porch and kids can grab some if they want.

I'm not in a costume. I don't enjoy wearing costumes but a lot of people at work today are wearing costumes (professors and students). Some people went all out.

I did not decorate my apartment since I won't even be there for Halloween.

  • I live in the dorms, so no trick-or-treaters for me. Even if I went back home or to BF's house there wouldn't be many, 5 would be a high estimate. I know there will be left over candy, so I'm looking forward to that the next time I go to BF's house or home.

I'm not in costume. I wish I had one, but I don't. I'm not creative when it comes to costumes, and I never had time to even think about one.

I didn't decorate my dorm, but I did help my mom decorate at home for fall. It was fun. It's something we can do together and spend time with each other, as we both like doing it and my dad and brother hate it.

If/when I have children, they will be major trick-or-treaters, even if I have to drive them to a high traffic trick or treat area. They will be walking door to door though. Probably with pillow cases.

  • We used those plastic Jack-o-Lantern things when we were really young but those just aren't big enough to hold all the loot. Once we were a little older we started using pillow cases instead.

  • My favorite scary movie starring my BFF is on right now. I'm so happy.

@bubbles053009 you would hate my cousin's house. She collects clowns and they are ALL OVER. It looks like the circus threw up in her house.

There's a certain doll I'm scared to death of, but I'm not telling @swazzle knows what I'm talking about because we both watched the same movie the same week (I think)

ETA: This bitch has been haunting me since I was a kid I hate Raggedy Ann!!!!:
