I currently work doing inside sales at a fastener company. I went to school for communication/marketing

How did you meet your FI?

We met on Eharmony almost 4 years ago. I tried it out during one of their free communication weekends. I was mainly curious since I’d never done the online thing. He was the only date I went on.

Do you have any pets?

We have two fluffmonsters, AKA Kittens. Rocky and Oreo. We adopted them last year and they are so much fun/trouble!

What’s your favorite food?

Hands down, lasagna

What was your favorite thing to plan for the wedding so far? Least favorite?

Favorite: Cake..Mmmm cake, the tastings were the best. Least favorite: guest list and transportation gave me headaches.

How did you pick your wedding date?

We knew we wanted spring or fall, this fall would have been too soon and I didn’t want to wait until next, so spring it was, also venue availability.

What are your wedding colors/ theme?

Colors are purple, green and silver/white

Favorite: Seeing everything start to come together. My dress, bridesmaid dresses, next is MOB dress! Flowers, etc.

Least Favorite: Guest List!!!! Hands down!!!

How did you pick your wedding date?

We started dating: 2-2-11

Engaged: 3-3-12

Wanted to get married: 4-4-14

Actually getting married: 5-17-14

(FI had one requirement. He didn't want to be hot)

Our venue will be under construction until May. They said it will be ready May 1. That made me too nervous. The following weekend was Mothers Day and the weekend after what we picked was Memorial Day weekend. Process of elimination I guess

Colors are various shades of pink and silver sparkles

Through friends. One of my friend's house burned down after lightning hit it, and she had to stay with a friend, who is friends with my FI. So we met during a weekly monday night friend hang out, he got my number a few months later, and the rest is history!

Technically, I do, she is a cat. But she lives with my mom now in CA cause my FI is horribly allergic to cats.

What’s your favorite food?
I don't know, I suppose mexican food. I could eat it 7 days a week.

What was your favorite thing to plan for the wedding so far? Least favorite?
My favorite was the dress. Least favorite has been the guest list. I'm still trying to wrangle addresses from my mom and FMIL

How did you pick your wedding date?
We were originally looking at getting married on the 24th, but it was booked. So we picked the day after, the 25th. It is memorial weekend, but we are okay with that. Partially because its an extra long weekend, but we have our best shot at good weather here in the midwest. But it turns out, 25 is totally our number! He is born Feb 25, I'm born June 25, and now our wedding date is May 25!

What are your wedding colors/ theme?
Our wedding colors are dark purple, and light grey. I wanted grey for sure, cause my FI would look AMAZING in a grey suit.

I went to school for Communications and I've been working at Mars (M&M's) for almost four years now doing different things in HR. I actually just found out about that I got my a promotion (FINALLY, after four years!) last week. I'm so excited.

I seriously only drink water. Every time I sip something else, it's just a sip and that's it.

Through a mutual friend (his best friend from growing up is my good friend from work)

FI does - a Jack Russell terrier named Artie - he's the most hyper creature I've ever come in contact with

Crab cakes, I think. Phenomenal finger food.

What was your favorite thing to plan for the wedding so far? Least favorite?

It's hard to pick a favorite thing, but I'd have to say the venue - I fell in love with it immediately and never wanted to leave. The cake is a really close second though. That was every bit as fun as it should be.

Least favorite was picking the tuxes. I was so overwhelmed. I'm a really visual person so it bothered me that we couldn't even have him try anything on. But I think we ended up with the right thing.

How did you pick your wedding date?

I always knew I wanted to get married in May and FI had no preference. When I asked the site coordinator about a date in May she said the 10th and 17th were available. My mom made a joke and said we should pick 5/17 because the venue is actually on Route 517 so she would never forget our anniversary and that was that (she also said the ceremony should start at 5:17 but that was too much for me).

What are your wedding colors/ theme?

White and metallics - silver and mercury glass and maybe a little bit of gold

We lived around the corner from each other, I worked at the corner store (putting myself through school), and he was friends with one of my coworkers.

FLOWERS. Least fave has been guest list because we're keeping it so small.

How did you pick your wedding date?
FI looked at the calendar and saw that May 24th was a Saturday and available, and went, "May 2-4! Yes! I'll always remember that!" For those who don't know, Victoria Day is a holiday Monday in May in Canada, and since it often falls around the 24th, we colloquially refer to it as the May 2-4 (two-four) weekend.

What are your wedding colors/ theme?
Blush, peach, pink tones (all warm), some ivory and some lavender (FI's fave colour is purple), and then grey accents (stone Carriage House, grey suits for guys, etc)

I originally wanted a fall wedding, but didn't want to wait that long so I just randomly picked May. The 10th is Mother's Day weekend and the 24th is my niece's 18th birthday so we went with the 17th. I wish we had a cute story for it, but it was really just logistics.

I loved looking at venues, and I loved shopping for my dress - that said, making the final decisions on both of these was painstaking.

Least favorite - guest list. Brutal. And once it was set, finding addresses... and full names... what a nightmare!

How did you pick your wedding date?

I always wanted a summer wedding, and May is beautiful here in Southern California (June tends to be a bit overcast, and by July it can get pretty hot). Since we have a lot of guests from out of town, we decided to schedule it for Memorial Day weekend (to allow guests extra travel time), and Saturday was taken at our venue, so voila! Sunday, May 25th it is!

What are your wedding colors/ theme?

Colors: Cranberry red, ivory, champagne. We don't really have a theme; I'm going for a classic romance kind of feel - lots of roses, pearl jewelry/decor accents.

What was your favorite thing to plan for the wedding so far? Least favorite? Cake tasting! That was fun--and we get to do a second one because my fiance wasn't there. Dress shopping was fun too. General logistic things aren't really so fun I would say. Finding a photographer was difficult, and trying to find a hotel to book a block at for our guests that is reasonable isn't easy either.

How did you pick your wedding date? We wanted our engagement to be less than a year, we both hate summer and hot weather, we didn't want it to be too early spring because of snow/ice, we (he) didn't want it to be during the NCAA basketball tournament, and so in the spring our venue had 2 dates that worked in these parameters. One was the same as the big party weekend at our alma mater and so we chose the other.

What are your wedding colors/ theme? My theme is marriage. HA. I'm thinking navy bridesmaid dresses because it looks good on everyone and is very versatile and I really love pastel peach, soft yellow, blush, soft green, and ivory flowers. Overall I suppose the wedding might have a slightly vintage feel due to our venue. And I kind of want to maybe do mint juleps if we can find a pre-made version or a recipe for bulk ones (we can byob) because our wedding is on derby day.

What do you do (job/school)?

A lot: I'm in grad school. I'm an art teacher at a Catholic school 2 days a week. I just got a promotion at my other job; I'm now the Education & outreach Coordinator (aka the entire education, public programing, and outreach departments....basically the work of 4 people, plus administration duties so 5 people I guess lol) at a small house museum. Once a month a do a toddler story/activity time at another small house museum. I have also been doing some private art classes/lessons and babysitting for "pocket money" (aka cash that goes into my wallet and not the bank for bills/saving).

What’s your favorite beverage at the moment?

Water. Or tea. I'm getting over a cold from the weekend. Although we ran out of tea at work so I've been making hot chocolate.

How old are you?

26. Almost, my b-day is Nov. 23!!

I just liked the way 5.2.14 sounded lol! Our "real" anniversary is in Aug, but it's 2 days before FI's bday so I didn't want our wedding to ever outshine his bday. So since most of our celebrations are in late summer and fall, we picked spring. Also cuz of the great weather - not too cold, not too hot!

Colors: navy & light pink. We don't really have a theme, but since we are getting married in a garden I'm kinda going along the lines of a romantic English garden feel.

this was a fun topic!i didnt post my information though. I do wanna say that after reading all of you ladies backstories it really makes me appreciate my own life and how everything has come to be. They were things I read on other posts that I was thinking to myself, "I'm glad that's not me! I don't want that job" and although it's not for me that doesn't mean it's bad for anyone else. We have booked a big horse drawn carraige for everyone from the Chapel to the reception site, but are keeping it a secret from them. Not sure how to figure out cars for them to get TO chapel, and FROM reception

Living here in Wisconsin it's possible to have snow anywhere from September to April. We picked May 31st so it would be very close to summer weather, yet still have a May wedding.

Finding our venue was incredible. It is perfect for us, our wedding coordinators are amazing girls, and it was easy on the budget, too! Least favorite... definitely working on the guest list. Trying to please everyone is not easy

I always knew I wanted a spring wedding. Spring is our favorite season, with NHL playoffs and the baseball season just starting. I figured April was a bit too cold and rainy where we live, so we decided on May 3rd.

What are your wedding colors/ theme?

Blush pink, ivory, and gold! We're getting married on a farm so I'm working in rustic details like mason jars, hay bales, and fried chicken, plus more elegant and romantic touches like pink peonies and roses, lace, and lots of gold glitter!

We both wanted a May wedding and then went with the best date that worked for us and family members.

Blush pink, Gold, Ivory, and a hint of mint green (very soft mint) oh and LOTS of glitter and sparkle.. I have a second wedding dress that is a golden tint It is southern meets sparkle.. outdoor over looking mountains and the reception will be in the ball room... we have booked a doughnut truck as a surprise for guest too.

@bellaluna290 I wish I thought more ahead about that. However my body is currently out of wack with my cycle (thanks new bc) so it would have done me no good to plan around that. I'm doing the crossing my fingers and praying I won't be on my period on my wedding day method. Our honeymoon will happen later, so I'm not too worried about that.

I'm obviously not a Dr but I was concerned about having my period on wedding day. (Although with being on the pill its a lot lighter) My Dr. recommended that I start the pack of pills on a Thursday instead of Sunday. I take the last pill on a Saturday. Monday my period starts...Thursday I start a new pack of pills and by Friday it's gone. I've been doing this since last December and it's worked out well.

Again I'm not a Dr but I guess it can't hurt to ask your gyno if it's an option.

@futuremrsn3312 That is a good idea. Once my body goes back to normal (since right now its still trying to regulate to the new pill) I'll look into doing something like that. And besides, my next appointment is in a few months, so I can ask in plenty of time before the wedding

I met my fiance on Valentine's Day almost four years ago at dinner with some friends, and over time we became best friends, and then six months of being best friends he became my first date, my first (and only) boyfriend, a couple years later my first kiss, and now my future husband.

I love gift registry! Which isn't really wedding planning per se, but I love it! Also ring browsing is definitely addictive....

I graduate from my university May 17th, and I'm not crazy enough to try to get married before the two weeks following graduation. Plus, I've always wanted a May wedding!

The best way to describe my wedding colors and theme is sharp and elegant.

I work as an academic assistant at a medical school. I absolutely love it as there is a lot of freedom in my schedule and no one micromanaging me. Even though its not my first job since college, I'm calling it my first grown up job

hot chocolate especially the salted caramel hot chocolate from starbucks! One of my favorite things about this time of the year (other than my birthday) is hot chocolate and all the cookies! Which of course are not helping me staying in shape for the wedding and honeymoon!

Do you have any pets?

I have a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Reese. And recently adopted his half brother from my sister. His name is Louie. Reese is mostly white with a few large brown spots and Louie has speckled black spots all over him. There super cute and friendly and way too energetic!

What was your favorite thing to plan for the wedding so far? Least favorite?

So far, I loved touring our venue. It's a historical building so its absolutely gorgeous! And we both loved it - really got us excited about the wedding (well more so than we already were). Least would be the bridesmaid dresses. Finding the has become a nightmare! and my MOH is being extremely difficult hopefully I figure out something soon...

How did you pick your wedding date?

Well we both know other people - family and friends - that are getting married this year. One in June, one in July, one in August. And with my FI being in school, we definitely didn't want to go too early or too late in the year or there would be no possibility of a honeymoon. With May, we get the whole summer before he goes back to studying his butt off for law school. We first picked the 31st but my cousin's is the very next week all the way in NH! So we decided the 24th. Despite it being a holiday weekend, I think it will work out perfectly!

What are your wedding colors/ theme?

the colors are mint and lavender. No theme but keeping it pretty formal to go with the venue.
