DD had her 2 week check up (yes, she's two weeks old- tear). A bit of back story: with DS I tried to breastfeed but it didn't work. I pumped for 4 months but between all of our initial difficulties and having to switch to formula it made me sad and disappointed. I know that this is not rational but I don't fucking care. I was determined with DD to breastfeed and make it work.
So we've been doing this for two weeks and despite the fact that I saw the lactation consultant who confirmed that she was getting getting milk, I still had anxiety that we were going to fail. Like she wouldn't gain weight, or would have issues with jaundice (which DS had).
DD was 6 lbs 13 oz at birth and got down to 6 lbs 5 oz. Today she was 7 lbs 13 oz. and she grew 1.25 inches. In two weeks! No more anxiety, and I feel so much more confident about my ability to feed her. This is my last baby and I so wanted to make sure this worked.
