Why do married women frequent the forums?

Re: Why do married women frequent the forums?

  • I think it's funny that so many people are sensitive about this. Never once have I, or any other brides I've seen, been upset by good advice from married ladies. I only wondered why some enjoyed it so much to stay.

Many people already gave me good answers and I understand why they like to help new-to-site girls like me now.

Glad to read this and happy you appreciate us.
Sadly you just haven't been graced with reading any of these thread or comments - bc they do exist and the word hag has been thrown around more than once.

  • Oh that's mean. I am sorry someone called any of you ladies a hag. I thought the person before just said it to be funny. You're right, I haven't seen that before. Part of me being new, I guess.
  • It happens pretty often that we get asked why we are here, told we must be jealous, need lives, etc. That's why people are suspicious of your question.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I get it. Sorry that happens. It was not what I was thinking though.
  • I want to echo all the other PPs, I am so glad that all the married women are still here. I would rather get my advice from people who have already done it. Otherwise it would be like the blind leading the blind.

  • I enjoy talking about weddings and loved the advise/insight I had been given while planning.  Now I like that I can pass the advise on.  I interact more now that I am actually married, while I typically stalked in my early stages until I had a legit question to ask.  Plus, I will admit these boards can be pretty damn entertaining!

  • I really appreciate the great advice here too, it's helping me steer our families in the right direction (ie. good etiquette!). :)
  • I like the old hags sorority and hope they'll let me pledge once I'm married in a few months.
  • I joined and posted a couple times before my wedding, but I didn't really start reading posts or posting until after my wedding.

I stick around because I like seeing all the crazy train-wreck posts.  I also enjoy giving advice when I can and I love joining in on some of the stuff like "crazy Pinterest posts" and "ugliest dress" and stuff like that.  It's just fun and gives me a good laugh.
  • I was here for over a year before I got engaged, then through the entire process, and I'm still here three months later. I only hang out with the old married hags in Woes though.

  • I joined to help my daughter plan her wedding.  I was a MOB.  I quit the Knot when it got crazy last year, but when I lurked, I found a real need for my knowledge about proper invitation wording.  I like to help people, and I enjoy the input of younger ladies.
