Door Four

Re: Door Four

  • Four years ago I was starting my third and final year of college, and engaged to my ex-husband. I was also hard into drinking alcohol, to the point where I wouldn't go to school some days because of it. That was a pretty negative time for me. I bought my first car that year too, the day after my 20th birthday.
  • Four years ago was just a few months before I would meet my current BF.  I was dating another man who was a bit older and had two kids.  He had had cancer three times and it ended up coming back while I was dating him, and he would go for days, then weeks at a time where he would totally ignore me...would not answer any texts, call me, email, nothing.  It was psychological torture.  So much so that I took up drinking and smoking regularly for about a month.  Ugh.

I also switched to the new department that I'm currently still in at work.  I'm so glad I switched.  I get to work from home one day a week and I get to work a 4 day work week...I would have never gotten to do that in my old department.  And unlike my old department, there is no such thing as a crisis in my department.  Very laid back, very little micromanaging.

I was also at my lowest weight as an adult.  I had had gastric bypass surgery a year prior and I was living large (or should I say living small) at my lowest weight ever!

  • 4 years ago I was 21, in my first semester of grad school, and dating my ex-BF. Hard to believe how much can change in 4 years! Now I'm out of school, have a great job, a wonderful soon-to-be FI of 3 years, lost 20 pounds, and am HAPPY. So excited for what the next 4 years hold!

  • Four years ago I was living in Michigan, dating ex-fi(bf at the time) and going to school. My life wasn't too fun. So glad for the changes I've made!!
Same here. Only substitute "Michigan" with "California".
