@Dignity100 those are the most gorgeous dogs!!!

Thank you everyone for giving me your background information! I tried to go through the introduction thread, but there are quite a few there :)

I love seeing people build friendships on a message board, I met one of my very best friends through a message board, we didn't admit it to people for a long time because it was a radio station message board and we were ashamed ;)  It's a funny story to tell now though.

  • @BreMR I'm recently back on TK and have been trying to figure out the same things (who's engaged/married, who knows each other IRL). I love how many people are actually friends on this site!

@CocoBellaF I'm working towards my PMP as well! I'm currently on hiatus from the Project Management certificate program I'm doing because hi, school is expensive, but I'm done 3 of 8 courses so far. I'm approved to do the CAPM but haven't started studying for it yet. I'm hoping I'll either be back in class or studying for and taking the CAPM this summer. Good luck!

  • @lmcooper86 - I am taking the 10-week course to prep for the exam, and then I'll be eligible for my CAPM, I think.  after that, I'll try working towards my PMP.  according to the program I'm looking at, it'll be about $1600 for the 10-week course (40 hours) and then $300 for the exam.  what program are you looking at?  is it similar?
  • @FoxandBunny - we already called and had the estimate done on removing the floor tile. Legally here we're not required to remove it, it would be something we'd do for our own peace of mind. As far as we can tell, it's in the floor tile only.
  • @KeptInStitches - I'm glad you did. I know my brother wasn't expecting such a huge expense for it, so I just thought I'd warn you so you didn't go through the same thing. I am glad you found a house though! That's always so exciting!

  • @FoxandBunny, we're confident that the walls were replaced recently. Also, there's no asbestos on the pipes as insulation (we can see that visually), so the floor tiles remain as the only potential point, plus we're not sure they are asbestos. We're assuming they are based on the size of the tile, the color of the tile, and the age of the house.

@phira and @Swazzle You guys were right. Work after the insertion was a really really bad idea. I think I lasted about 5 minutes at my desk before I told my boss I needed to go home. So now I'm home, in bed, working a little bit but mostly laying here with the fan on and my eyes closed.

@CocoBellaF Good luck with the PMP course! Also, the flooring you chose is beautiful!!!

  • @lmhollister awwww I'm sorry :( feel better though!!!!!

@CocoBellaF @buddysmom80 Thanks! The actual procedure wasn't THAT bad. But now I'm just....ugh.

  • @lmhollister from what I remember, that night was pretty crappy, but the next day I felt better. I went to work after the procedure and was like "WTF WAS I THINKING?"

  • @lmhollister - Feel better!

  • @BreMR First, I couldn't figure out your letters.  I was like "she wouldn't have mister at the end of her name!" but..you do.  Secondly, I'm engaged.  I was here before I was engaged for maybe a yearish?  Or maybe more than that.  I'm getting married in 9 days.  Like, next Saturday.  I'm kinda ridiculously stoked!  I haven't met any of these crazy knotties yet, but I'm facebook friends with @irishdreamer as of yesterday lol and I plan to have a southern get together with @lmhollister, @southernpeach89, @lalalaurita, @irishdreamer, and @ollie08 at some point after this wedding thing is over.  Since I'm not a southerner, I expect @lmhollister and @southernpeach89 to cook us fried chicken, grits, and collard greens or something.  I'm not sure.  I don't have the details worked out.

@lmhollister (I've tagged you 3 times in this post) I hope you feel better soon!!!  owwww :(  Also, I mean this nicely, but um...shouldn't you have waited a day?  It's your FI's birthday!  Ok ok, I won't talk about your sex life in front of your sister (but I kinda already did.)  Love you, even though you are crazy and in pain!

@brisox81 pentatonix?!  (I may be more sad not to have a pentatonix update than a pony update!)

@Blue & White His birthday is tomorrow...I'm hoping to be more "recovered" by then...hah! Also...don't look at me for fried chicken. I've never made it in my life! However, my shrimp and grits recipe is ehrmergerd amazing! And so are my collard greens. And my deviled eggs recipe from the Southern Living magazine is seriously the tastiest. I have friends who will down like 6 eggs so I usually have to make them in huge quantities for parties.

  • @cocobellaF - I got them at Target a couple years ago!

@swazzle - and sometimes, on PURPOSE.

@blue & White Oh... man, I never thought about the MR. at the end of my name as in Mister... It's actually just my middle and last initials. Woops :)

  • @lmhollister shrimp and grits or fried chicken?  I'll take shrimp and grits, even though I don't even know if I like grits...details.  I hope none of us southerners are allergic to shellfish...

  • @BreMR - I joined NEY/TK when I had been dating then-BF for a little over a year. Now we've been together over 3 years and got engaged a few months ago :-) I've met a couple of NEY-ers IRL and am meeting a bunch more in TX TOMORROW :-D

  • I'm not allergic to any foods and I love Shellfish!!! I also love me some shrimp and grits and collards! Our mom has a really good recipe for collards with a ham bone in it.

@Blue & White I hope not either! But you cook the grits separately from the shrimp mixture so people with allergies can always have just the grits. I sort of follow this recipe...but I use real grits and not that "quick-cooking" crap.

  • @CocoBellaF I think my school offered a 12 week program that essentially prepared you for the PMP exam, but I couldn't take 3 month off work at the time. So instead I'm doing an 8 course certificate program, and trying to be involved in as many projects as I can at work. The number of hours required for the full PMP seems insane so I'm trying to count every possible hour! Hoping I can use the CAPM as a stepping stone; at least it's a move in the right direction (and really...I just want to be able to write some extra letters after my name!)

@swazzle LOL you are actually the first person to make that joke! I have been thinking it in my head since I started the program but no one has ever said it out loud! When I do eventually get the certification I may have to buy myself a badass pimp coat...

  • @lmhollister just trying to branch out and embrace my non-southern roots.  I'm going to have southerners as children, after all, and I have to teach them right :)

Luckily FI's family is from WV, so I already have some fantastic secret recipes that have like 10 sticks of butter in them.

  • @brisox81, how was your birthday?

@lmhollister So glad you went home! I had my IUD put in at student health services, and they actually don't let people go back to work afterwards. I felt okay after (I remember standing outside waiting for my ride, thinking, "Huh ... I could totally have gone to work"), but by the time I got home, I was just so tiiiiiired. I'm one of those people who gets lower back pain with really bad cramps, so the whole week, my back was killing me.

I'm really glad that it went well, though. I love having an IUD, and I'm so glad that I got one.
