FI and I have both been working from home the last two weeks. Just a few minutes ago I looked up from my computer to peek at his, and he was on the internet looking at pictures of table centerpieces in our wedding colors. I love that man.

What's your SO/FI doing right now?

Re: What's your SO/FI doing right now?

  • My FI is making dinner at his parents' place for his parents and himself.  He went up there to do some work around the house earlier.

  • He is on the phone talking about Sons of Anarchy with his brother.
  • He's at work still.  I'm on spring break (whoop!!).  He's taking me out with 2 friends for a blind/dark dining evening tonight, and then Captain America tomorrow.  I'm a little concerned about tonight.  If I find a single mushroom on my plate, I will not be happy

  • He was supposed to be flying helicopters and then had to help fill Easter Eggs for an event this weekend.

Yup, life in the Army for you.

  • He works from home. His project ended early today so I'm pretty sure that started out with a list of things to work on but is now on the couch binge-watching "Big Bang Theory" while killing any junk food he can find in the house. I'd be annoyed but he's got a long weekend ahead of him.

  • Working. Probably running around at the dealership and being pulled in three different directions.
  • He's two minutes away from clocking out of work.  Prob finishing one last service call answering questions about mergers/stock splits/ whatever and looking at the clock!

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • @WinstonsGirl why are you concerned about finding a mushroom on your plate?

My SO is still at work, and very busy with his project. I am also still at work, as we both work at the same place and carpooled since his car is in the shop. But I cannot do any more work on my project until others complete their parts, so I just have to wait for him to finish.

  • Selfishly, I hope he's in the basement installing the ballet barre I got last week (...notice the last week part. Procrastinate much, hun??).

Ideally, he's in his office working the day away while Gus snores on the daisy chair.

Realistically, he's online shopping for random fishing gear (his latest & greatest hobby).

  • He's sleeping. FI works graves at work, so he sleeps during the day and then wakes up when I get off of work and we have dinner/hang out. Can't wait for him to be on days again. I hate waking up without him. =(

  • @WinstonsGirl, I share your dislike of fungus, in all forms.

DH is at work, so he's probably making phone calls and following up on the shooting from earlier today. Or the one from last night.

  • I wish I was there to know! Though, I know he's at work because it's only 3:30 here :)

He is prepping food for a wedding tasting.  Wedding is in Sept and pretty big.   High profile also.

The wedding planner asked for rack of lamb (NOT the client, the planner)  DH's kitchen is small and said he is not able to cook rack of lamb for 350+ people properly.   She replied "okay, sad your new chef can't cook lamb"

DH went ape shit when he heard her response.  He is now preparing lamb canapes like 10+ different ways to prove he can cook lamb, he just doesn't have the space or equipment in this kitchen to cook RACK OF LAMB as an entree for 350+ people  properly.  Big difference than can't cook lamb.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • FI is on the couch playing a game on his Kindle Fire. We are waiting to leave to go to the movies. Its date night. :)

    Spoiler alert*

I can't wait for Season 7.  I want to know what happens with Tara and the sheriff's murder; will they find/figure out it was Gemma?  Or that Juice helped helped after?  And also, more Chibs...

  • I LOVEEEE Sons of Anarchy (see avatar pic). I cannot wait for season 7. I cant believe its going to be over after this year.
Theo Rossi (Juice) lives in my town. He comes into the store I work in every so often. Nicest guy.

  • Mine is off hanging out with a bunch of old guys with former military vehicles, planning out who is taking which truck to which parade for Memorial Day. He's the usually the youngest guy there by a few decades. heh

  • He's at work. His coworkers keep asking him if he's looking forward to the wedding and he says things like "don't remind me!" because he's so nervous about being the center of attention on that day.

So yesterday, they decorated his cube and added a wedding countdown. I'm sure he's looking at the "23 days" right now.

  • @doeydo and @marygracerich I love SOA too! Have you guys heard the rumors that Lea Michele might be in season 7? The director hinted at it during some awards show.
  • Yeah. And it was mentioned on twitter. But I feel it might be like the Ashley Tisdale thing. She was on for about 10 minutes between two episodes. Not worth the mention.
Happy and Rat just became considered regular cast members.

  • DH is still at work (me too).  He usually leaves around 6ish.  I usually leave around 4.  I'm secretly hoping he leaves first so he can cook dinner instead of me.

  • He would be at work right now.  It's about 4pm here, so he's probably just getting to job #2.  He works full time as electrician from 6:30am-3:30pm.  Then he works part time at a high school doing cleaning and maintenance, from about 4pm-6pm each day.  He had the part time job first, while searching for full time work, then when got the full time job, he decided the cleaning job was only a couple hours a day and easy work, so he decided to keep it.  Especially since we are trying to save for our wedding.  I often work a little late, especially since I know he's not home, so we usually get home around same time most nights.

He's also starting college classes in the fall (part time), so he may need to give up the cleaning job at that time, because I think that would be too much to take on and we don't want him to burn himself out.

My FI has spent almost a year building a new smoker to cook up some BBQ (he's from TN, so he loves his smoked meats & BBQ). He finally finished building it last weekend. This thing is huge (6-ft. long x 30" dia.) and he hopes to use it to enter competitions in the near future. So, he's been crazy excited all week and anxiously awaiting this weekend for his first attempt at cooking with it. So, I can relate to having a guy all excited about grilling. :)

I absolutely mustn't tell my FI about your FI's smoker. He has "old smokey" (b/c I simply wasn't able to justify the 800+ bucks for a damn green egg) and he's OB.SESSED! Broke her out for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I'm quite convinced it was his favorite day all year. Boys!
