  • WHY IS EVERYONE LIKING MY MISTAKE?!

    You guys are SO MEAN.

    *Angry pouty face*
  • Thanks all for your sympathies and suggestions. At this point, I think we're just going to send them. It kind of kills me because I'm a big stickler too (apparently not big enough though) but today marks 2 months before our wedding and I need to get them out. I would have liked to get them out today but it's finals week and it's not gonna happen until after my A&P final on Wednesday. Unless FI has objections- he says he doesn't care, but then if that were the case it probably would've been better to not have told me ha.

I am definitely kicking myself for not submitting them to TK for critique though. I didn't want to bother because by the time I blacked out our names and stuff it would've been hard to figure out what they looked like, but I definitely should have done it. So to anybody that still has invites to do: definitely do that! Don't think you're good at this stuff because when you're stressed and sleep deprived, you won't be. Apparently.

OR BETTER YET DON'T MAKE YOUR OWN INVITES BECAUSE IT'S A GD NIGHTMARE.

  • Ugh, I'm so sorry this happened to you. First of all, hugs. Second of all...when I was about 13 years younger my husband and I worked together for a financial advisor. I was the assistant and my husband was the broker type person. I was overwhelmed and allowed my husband to draft a letter to all clients and then I proofread it. Somehow I totally missed that he spelled the bosses name Joesph. Moral of the story, I still think about it 13 years later. Sounds like you might need to redo this one. :(

  • Singinchick13 is correct.  I probably would have caught that if you had posted your entire text.

Well it's a good thing that I got really busy and hadn't sent them out yet, because I noticed another mistake.

    I quit.

I am going back to the print shop today, praying that they saved the file they came up with. If not, I may just rush order or something. I don't know. So I might as well change the "presence is requested" thing while I'm at it. I only have 20 sheets left but am hoping I can find something close at the craft shop. Ugh I was JUST near a Michael's and if I would've known I would've picked up another box.

So, new wording. Not sure what to do. I want to mention our families still, but while his parents have contributed (mine have not) we are paying for the bulk of it so its us doing the inviting. "Together with our families, the pleasure of your company is joyfully requested at the wedding of" doesn't sound right.

    Anyway. Me last night:

@JennyColada - I loved your comment because I know you are only inviting a very small group of people, and it's very fixable. :)@FiancB - Hugs and wine! Now, off to reproof my invitations that are currently at the printer... ETA Paragraphs
  • THIS is why invitations were the part of the planning process I put off and hated the MOST!!!

    I'm so sorry.  :(

One perk of working in publishing - I had an entire department to proof my invitations!

ETA: Hope everything works out for you, @FiancB

I'm about to pick them up. It seems all is well. It better be. It's a good thing I sent a pic to FI though because he noticed that "Club" was written as "CLub".

For the love of... there's only maybe 30 words on the stupid thing. How is it that I have screwed up on these like 5 times?  I can honestly say I usually don't screw up on writing a whole lot but these little bastards are cursed. And we usually notice a screw-up AFTER I spend a couple hours embossing each one.

  • Why not post the full thing on here (minus names/dates) - then copy and paste out.

    Side note for lurkers
When dealing with 'funky' fonts, I always type it up in an easy to read 'normal' font and convert to the 'fancy' font after all proof reading is completed.
